Coffee Tuesday! ☕

An instant update!

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

I’m not sure where to start, but I wanted to do a little update where it concerns the blog. I’ve been blogging less lately; it’s not that I’m not inspired, I am, for I have a LOT of ideas in my arsenal, but I’m just not into sitting down to turn the ideas into a blogging reality. I’ll try my best to work through my anemia episodes, but due to the fatigue, I can’t really concentrate on blogging and reading too many blogs. I apologize for not being able to visit your blogs at the moment.

Mimi Gif: Good Morning

Category is…

La Petite Muse is a pretty random blog. One day, there’s a favorite song, next week there’ll be a freshly crafted story, the next month, a photo, etc. and in the midst of all, Bible studies. You may or may not wonder why don’t I keep God separate. To make a long story short, I prefer to have this one blog where I can share pieces of me from all walks of life so you can see the growth of my walk with God. And I’ve been thinking of adding a few more categories, but I’ll get to them when the time is right.

Upcoming articles

Before this little break, I’ve been working on a variety of topics including:

* The continuation of the Exodus Bible study. I’m currently trying to work on posting the 4th chapter for this Sabbath, but I’ve been slow in getting there. If I had been consistent, I’m certain that we would’ve been wrapping up Deuteronomy.

* Book rants… well, I haven’t been reading much lately and I’m not into ranting about books at the moment. Most of them are garbage anyway.

* Movie/TV show reviews. I’ve watched a few shows and 2 movies since I’ve been home, but I haven’t been putting enough effort into working on those reviews.

* Topics concerning the right to judge, the rapture doctrine, and why one cannot have heaven without Jesus.

I’m not certain when I’ll be back to a regular writing, posting, and reading schedule, but I’ll be working on it this week. Thanks for understanding.

I’ll try my best to complete those articles soon and also get to your blogs. What new things have you been up to lately?

A Coffee Update!

I’m not entirely sure how often I do these kinds of updates.

Hmm R2 GIF - Thinking SBGIFs SpongeBobSquarePants - Discover ...

Anyways, salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

This is a small update on what I’ve been doing lately and the direction in which the blog may go in where it concerns content.

Gardening Project

Animation — Design Garden

I’ve been meaning to start a garden last year, but kept putting it off. Now that I have the time, I got the opportunity to start something small with Mom’s help. I don’t have the space to grow big beautiful fruit trees, but I’m working with what the Lord has blessed me with at the moment: pots. Also, I’ll be working on a side project that I’m calling “The Sunflower Project”. I’ll be sharing the lessons I’ve learned while gardening in a later post.

Song Writing

Songwriting 101: Basic Tips on Composing Your Own Song - When In ...

Sometime last year – or maybe it was earlier this year – I shared that I wrote songs pertaining to my faith and walk with God and I’ll share one or two if the time is right. Here is a snippet of “The Prodigal”:

And like the prodigal
that I am
I return to You

And you embrace me, Lord
You accept me as I am
You took my sins and
made them white as snow
As You continue to mold me
into the image of the Savior

These songs were given to me through the Holy Spirit to worship and praise my beautiful Creator during different stages of my life. Although I haven’t written down all of them, I wrote down the ones that I got led to. I’ll leave this for a future post.

The Animal Kingdom

Baby Feed GIFs | Tenor

Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded by animals especially dogs, cats, and chickens. I’ve learned a lot from God’s creations where it concerns the animal kingdom, and I am still learning lessons through them. Some were painful to swallow. Just recently, I learned one about favoritism. I’ve been thinking of incorporating an animal kingdom category, but that remains to be seen.

New Designs

michael jackson mature era | Tumblr

When I saw how much time I had, I made plans to return to drawing, but I ended up spending that time on designing new logos, banners, and signatures for the blog… as you might’ve seen with the newly touched up banner above. I’m excited to share them all in God’s good timing.

Coffee Tuesday! ☕

Category is…

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

Sometimes, I don’t quite know how to start a post up and this is one of those moments. But today, I want to talk about categories. I am in the process of deleting and renaming some categories, and I am also in the process of introducing new ones. Although I’ve narrowed it down to 8, they may or may not see the light of day.

I sat on these categories for a while, some as far back as 2017. Yeah, I know, I’m a delinquent. I procrastinate. A lot.

Adventures in the Kitchen

Image result for gif kitchen

Yep, that’s a live feed of me in the kitchen trying to cook. I’m enjoying being in the kitchen lately, so I’ll like to share some of the things I’ve been making or simply enjoy eating.

Arts & Craft

Image result for gif art and craft

It all started in 2017 when I complied the top ten museums I’ll love to visit and my top 10 favorite paintings. Mind you, these posts are still in drafts after all of these years. I recently found some drawings I did when I used to fan girl over stuff and since I’ve been getting the itch to start again – I have to dust off the rust first – I thought this would make a good category.

The Bible in Prophecy

Image result for gif bible

Prophecies straight from the Bible show what has already been established and what is yet to come. Is there an event called the rapture just before the coming of the One True King? What is the 3rd temple? Who/what is the anti-Christ? These are a few topics I’ll like to explore.

Blast from the Past

Image result for do you remember gif

Another category that has been sitting in drafts, withering away since 2017. I had planned to revisit nostalgia through certain TV shows and movies and see if I feel the same way about them. I already have some notes in drafts.

Fairy tale Friday

Image result for gif fairy dust

It all started when I helped a student with a fairy tale thesis and I’ve been meaning to explore the dark world of fairy tales ever since. That is if this category eventually makes the cut.

Lessons from God

Image result for gif blossoming flowers

This is self-explanatory. God has taught me and has been teaching me so much that I’ll like to share some of the lessons I’ve learned from Him.

Tour Trinidad

Image result for gif trinidad

I’ve been waiting to launch this category for a while and now, the time is here. This is a subcategory for Travel Tuesday in which I’ll show you around my town.

What’s Up Weds

Image result for gif coffee two

Twice a month (or so), we meet in the middle of the week to interact. We’ll discuss non-personal items such as a favorite treat or what we’re currently reading.

Related image

And those are the categories I hope to start working on in the right timing. I’ll have to randomly schedule some of these categories in the future for its only one blog and it’s on its way to becoming congested.

Coffee Tuesday! ☕

The next step in this journey.

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

2019, huh? I had so many plans for the blog but in the end, many of them were not to be. Now, I look ahead to see where blogging will take me in 2020.

The journey continues?

God has plans for this blog, so yes, the journey is going to continue. I’ve already sketched ideas for certain topics and in doing so, I got a chance to improve my graphics game. Thank You, God! Creativity comes from the Creator after all and I enjoy discovering new ways to create things.

A few blog plans thus far:

Bible studies, monthly scriptures…

10+ Free WordPress & Blog Vectors - Pixabay

Studying the Bible is not a pastime, it’s a habit and the more time I spend in the Word, the more I learn or discover. We’ve only studied Genesis thus far on LPM, but I do plan on posting study notes from Exodus when the time is right. As for the weekly scriptures, they’ll now become monthly from January.

…and a devotional?

Image result for gif God is love

I’ve always wanted to feature a devotional monthly study on the blog and it looks like I’ll be getting an opportunity soon. I’ve prayed about it and the study was already revealed to me so bless God for this. I’ll reveal the Book which God led me to when the time is right. It’s not going to be anytime soon, though.

New/revamp categories

Image result for gif tom cruise reading a book

The categories are something I tend to mention during these kinds of wrap up. It’s most likely that some of these categories would be renamed and some might be dropped. One such category is French Friday which is most likely to be renamed. And yes, there are a few new categories on its way which will be revealed in due time. Also, me dearest, if you’re reading this, I plan to start doing book reviews again. 😁

366 days of gratitude?

Image result for gif thankful

Ruth over on plantedbylivingwater is currently doing 365 days of thanks and it’s a wonderful reminder to be grateful. I’ll love to participate as well, but I’m not sure how it’s going to work out as yet. However, I am seriously considering opening a blog just for this sole purpose, so I can journal 366 things to be grateful for in 2020.

Posting schedule

Where it concerns randomly posted topics, nothing has changed. However, I got led to create a blogging planner for the first time since I’ve started blogging. I’ve never had the need for one before, but God has many things planned for this blog in 2020 so most likely I’ll be using the planner to schedule posts.

Here’s to 2020!

Coffee Tuesday! ☕

A little blog update.

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

An Update

I haven’t been active as I should posting new material and reading your blogs lately for I’ve been busy with so many things. To be honest, I’ve thought about closing the blog many times, but God still wants me to carry on His online ministry so I’ll be here a while longer just not as active as before.

Claiming La Petit/e Muse?

I must have told this story a few times on the blog, but when I first registered the name of the blog, it was supposed to be La Petite Muse. However, WP said that the name was already taken. I really wanted the “petite” to be a part of the title even if it meant using the masculine form which is “petit” which can also mean petty, insignificant or minor. Anyway, to make a long story short, I recently checked to see if La Petite Muse was available as I’ve been changing the logo and designs from “petit” to the rightful feminine form of “petite”. It’s still unavailable, but I’ll be going with the rightful form of “petite” from now where it concerns signatures and designs.

And that’s the tea. Er, I mean, story.

Stories and book reviews

I want to start doing book reviews again, but there’s a problem: I have not been reading lately. I also want to start posting the stories I promised (a few months back), but I put that on the back burner until perhaps next year be it the will of God.

More categories?

When will I stop coming up with new categories?! I spoke about future new categories in the last blog update, but at the moment, I don’t have any plans to fully introduce them just yet. And I’m yet to write about that Maracas trip.

Experimenting with siggies

Due to not having enough time to sit and create the designs I want at the moment, I went with this for one of the current signatures:

Although I like the dancing cat and the butterflies, I feel as if the color scheme is all wrong. I plan to design a proper signature soon, but when the time is right.

Only time will tell if this blog will eventually be a thing of the past, but at the moment, I’ll continue what the Lord has in store for me. I apologize for this boring update, but it had to be done.

Good afternoon, good evening, good night, or morning. Firstly, I apologize for being M.I.A. for the past few days on your blogs, but I’ve been unwell and needed the rest. I’ll try my best to rectify those visits soon. Also, I’m in the process of shopping for a new laptop for the current one is slowly, but surely shutting down and I’m just milking it until its final goodbye. At the moment, I’m unable to access all the blogs I read and I can’t reply back to emails so please bear with me. This post might even take the entire day! 😅😫

The posts that popped up over the weekend were scheduled {on my work computer} and I’m yet to reply to your comments, but I appreciate and thank you for stopping by to read, browse and/or comment.

Now, to blog business.

Last month I talked about the changes to come on the blog, but I’ve been slow in fulfilling them due to limited time although I have some ideas and half-finished posts in drafts. I’m still deciding which ones to start on…

Allow me to walk you through a few categories/topics I’m pondering on.

A to Z Challenge

These can be fun depending on the topic and I intend to complete at least 2 this year with a focus on nature specifically animals.

Adventures in the kitchen

Heh! I’m not friends with the kitchen, but we’re trying to be besties. 😁I look forward to chronicling my cooking and baking adventures {if I get to it} so stay tuned for this one!

Bible thoughts

I know I’m still trying to complete the study of Genesis, but I’ll like to add something to our Bible studies like a monthly study question, a thought, a reflection or an activity.

Blast from the Past

In which we revisit a few childhood shows/movies to see if we still feel the same way about them. To be honest, this is something I’ve been meaning to get done since 2017, but the time was never right so the project never took off. I made notes on the few selected shows so it’s only to fetch them from drafts. If it doesn’t take off this year, then I know it’s not meant to be.

Cultural Behavior/Differences

I love learning/reading/discovering what is considered the norm in different societies! I’m not too sure if this one is a green light as yet, but I’ll like to share what I’ve learned.

Fairy Tale Friday

This project has been on my mind for a few years now. It all started when I helped a student with a fairy tale thesis and I’ve been meaning to explore the world of fairy tales ever since. Not too sure about this one at the moment, but I’ll love to get to it one day.

I came across the thankful blog series I started last year and realized that I never completed it so I’ll like to restart the engine on this one.

Crazy Rich French Twins: an introduction

From today, twins are going to reign for the month of November! 😉

Related image

#TwinsGalore

At the beginning of the month, I said that I wouldn’t be participating in NaNoWriMo because I don’t have the energy to do so this time around. I also shared the title of the serial I would’ve liked to work on: Crazy Rich French Twins. I’m yet to start working on it, but I’ve jotted down some ideas which I’ll most likely share during the month of November.

THE INCEPTION

Thanks to Kage of RLyis for this lovely banner

It happened one evening. While scouring Amazon for titles to add to my TBR (sometime earlier this year), an idea took shape: take the first four titles of books I come across and write my own short story based off it. I used to do this with song and movie titles. I came across a book titled ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. I’ve never heard about the book before, although it came out in 2014, but I liked the sound of it and wrote this title down. I was going to write a short story for my own crazy rich French twins and voila! A parody was born.

I’ll admit though, that I have no interest in reading ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ at this point.

THE TWINS

Image result for gif twins identical boys

I have mentioned them several times over the past few years in short stories during various stages of their lives, featured an episode of CRFT for Short Story Sunday and did a writing tag for the story. I’ve had them around ever since I started writing.

Featured| Ray et Marcus da Dixon

This story centers around the twins’ lycée years. They look something like this…

Related image Image result for prince canary

Beautiful art via Prince Canary. They’re top class! I wish to have my characters drawn like this someday.

…but with wavy auburn hair and standing at 5’11”. Ray and Marcus are mirror identical twins, geniuses, and super wealthy, but they sure don’t act like it. 😉I’ll admit, though, I’m not too sure of the direction I’m going with this so it’ll be cool to experiment.

THE LOCATION

Image result for france gif

Based on the title, you weren’t expecting Russia, China or even Trinidad, right? To be fair, I may use various locations as I continue to write the serial, but for now, I want to focus on France. It’ll also give me a chance to brush up on my French. I’ll also be sharing some snippets here and there from the serial and debunking twin myths along the way.

Teaser Tuesday: blog revamp and currently…

Yes, La Petit Muse is getting a facelift. 😁

Happy May Day!

Image result for gif will and grace

Hello, and welcome back to my blog. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting lately when it comes to many aspects of my life including this blog. I don’t want to go into a lot of details, but I am thinking of revamping La Petit Muse as early as 2019 be it God’s willing. I’ll be adding new categories and neglecting some of the old ones. I won’t say which ones at the moment.

No, but I can divulge a few details at the moment.

Oh, alright! At the beginning of the year, I contemplated on bringing back Song Sunday (this month is a year since I haven’t updated it), but some of these songs these so-call Christian artists out here are singing do not entirely praise and focus on God. But I’ve made the decision to bring it back. I’ll be sharing songs that I love, discussing the intentions/meanings behind some songs and I used to write songs so I’ll be sharing some of mine as well. Also, the Origins series that I wanted to start at the beginning of this year is a go.

And that’s all I’ll be sharing for now. Now, to a small life update.

Teaser Tuesday: book cover creations!

I know I could’ve done better with that headline! 😒

Happy May Day!

Image result for gif hello everyone

I’ve been experiencing a writing slump since the beginning of the year and I’ve been writing on and off whenever I feel the need to/inspired. However, I am at my happiest whenever I write material of a spiritual matter and that’s why I love pouring my heart and time into Bible studies.

Today, I want to share a few of the covers, backgrounds, and designs I’ve worked on in the last few months. Whenever I start a new story, the gears start turning in my head immediately and I turn to the designing process which is meant to inspire me, but they don’t always do the trick.

Image result for gif book design

I get most of my images from Pixabay or Unsplash. I sometimes combine Fotor and Canva where it concerns the fonts. What I love about Canva is the fact that even if there’s a design to purchase, you can remove their design, add yours and still download it for free. How. Cool. Is. That?

Bear in mind, that these are just for fun for I am no expert when it comes to designing covers although I think I’ve improved over the last few years.

The Barcelona Job

This was one of my favorite covers to create! Yes, the picture is simple, but it all boils down to the fonts. I was eager to start this story at the beginning of the 2017/18 football season to chart FC Barcelona’s progress in a fictional world, but sadly, I won’t be finishing this story. I didn’t put enough time and effort into this one and I don’t feel like watching highlights for some matches just to make it work. I’ve written 5-7 chapters and I’ve stopped there. Maybe I’ll share it one day. Maybe I won’t.

Brothers In Law

The law won’t quit me! I tried running away from it, but time after time, I just find myself reading books on law whether they’re fictional or not, so I decided to write my own story. It’s a Law Comedy of sorts, but I have to devote time to actually writing it chapter by chapter and not in the pieces that I’ve compiled.

100 Text Messages

Just a fun graphic for a story that I’m working on for my family and friends. I’m telling the story through, you guessed it, text messages! Sadly, I’m only on message #3. 😞

House of da Díxon

Writing started for me when I gave birth to a pair of French identical mirror twins by the name of Ray and Marcus da Díxon and it’s been non-stop adventures and action ever since! The thing is, I have a tendency to reuse them in almost all of my stories and it never gets boring. I just reinvent them… I’ll explain another time. This story is told using all forms of social media including YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.

I get to make graphics like this…

…and I get to make magazine graphics somewhat.

Crazy Rich French Twins

Do I have a story about how the title for this one was conceived! I was sourcing through Amazon (nothing new here) for titles I can probably use for short stories when I came across some book called ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. I’ve never heard of the book before, but I read the blurb, liked it, sadly didn’t order it – although I hear there’s a movie coming out in the summer be it God’s willing – and chose the title for a series in which I parody wealth – or maybe not for I actually want to show that wealthy characters are not boring as via my awesome French twins! So, this is going to be a blast to write.

Thank you for reading/viewing! On another note, I just have to ask, do you think my new Teaser Tuesday banner is over the top? I know I’ve sprinkled a lot of hearts on it, but what about the butterfly or coming soon sign?
