Coffee Tuesday! ☕

Category is…

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.

Sometimes, I don’t quite know how to start a post up and this is one of those moments. But today, I want to talk about categories. I am in the process of deleting and renaming some categories, and I am also in the process of introducing new ones. Although I’ve narrowed it down to 8, they may or may not see the light of day.

I sat on these categories for a while, some as far back as 2017. Yeah, I know, I’m a delinquent. I procrastinate. A lot.

Adventures in the Kitchen

Yep, that’s a live feed of me in the kitchen trying to cook. I’m enjoying being in the kitchen lately, so I’ll like to share some of the things I’ve been making or simply enjoy eating.

Arts & Craft

It all started in 2017 when I complied the top ten museums I’ll love to visit and my top 10 favorite paintings. Mind you, these posts are still in drafts after all of these years. I recently found some drawings I did when I used to fan girl over stuff and since I’ve been getting the itch to start again – I have to dust off the rust first – I thought this would make a good category.

The Bible in Prophecy

Prophecies straight from the Bible show what has already been established and what is yet to come. Is there an event called the rapture just before the coming of the One True King? What is the 3rd temple? Who/what is the anti-Christ? These are a few topics I’ll like to explore.

Blast from the Past

Another category that has been sitting in drafts, withering away since 2017. I had planned to revisit nostalgia through certain TV shows and movies and see if I feel the same way about them. I already have some notes in drafts.

Fairy tale Friday

It all started when I helped a student with a fairy tale thesis and I’ve been meaning to explore the dark world of fairy tales ever since. That is if this category eventually makes the cut.

Lessons from God

This is self-explanatory. God has taught me and has been teaching me so much that I’ll like to share some of the lessons I’ve learned from Him.

Tour Trinidad

I’ve been waiting to launch this category for a while and now, the time is here. This is a subcategory for Travel Tuesday in which I’ll show you around my town.

What’s Up Weds

Twice a month (or so), we meet in the middle of the week to interact. We’ll discuss non-personal items such as a favorite treat or what we’re currently reading.

And those are the categories I hope to start working on in the right timing. I’ll have to randomly schedule some of these categories in the future for its only one blog and it’s on its way to becoming congested.

꧁ TBR Book Tag ꧂

Madame Writer always discovers the best book tags around and although I’m not as invested in books as I used to be, I couldn’t let the TBR Book Tag pass me by! Let’s do… wait, let me grab a coffee first… okay, let’s do this!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I actually don’t. I used to keep a notebook, now, I read whenever the impulse to do so kicks in and when I do, I choose a book at random.

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

The printed format suits me better as I’ll devour it faster than an E-book!

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

Refer to Q. 1.

A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest

This book:

And this one:

There are others that have been in my TBR even longer, but every time I look at the bookshelf, I keep wondering why I haven’t read those books as yet. The first one was a gift; the second one I bought when I was going through my lawyer phase.

Hopefully, I’ll get to them sooner rather than later.

A book recently added to your TBR

Alex is some kind of wonderful, intelligent mathematical sciencey genius who makes cooking look easy. I used to watch his YouTube channel (Alex French Guy Cooking), so when I saw his book, I had to get it.

I love how he experiments with food and cooking methods. I love it when he goes in-depth into a technique as he demystifies (or complicate) cooking. He made me appreciate food chemistry. The best part of his cooking journey? He was self-taught. 😄

A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover

Beautiful? What even is that?

Okay, you caught me. I bought like 4 books because of their pretty shiny covers, but to keep them strictly in my TBR? A no-no. I already read them and passed them on to new owners.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading

I’ve gotten rid of a lot of books I don’t ever plan on reading recently, so I guess it’s safe to say that I plan to read what’s left of my TBR.

An Unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for

I am not excited about books anymore for they end up being disappointments as authors are forgetting how to author and expectations end up shattering like a favorite tea or coffee cup.

However, I’ll like to get my hands on a copy of Antoine Griezmann’s freshly printed manga Goal

A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you

A few years ago, I got this really awesome book “The Greater Journey: Americans In Paris” on sale at my favorite bookstore. One year later after the purchase, it starts trending everywhere even on Twitter! And I was like, “I’ve got that book and I’ll read it soon!” It still sits on my bookshelf to this day sadly wasting away.

A book on your TBR everyone recommends to you

I don’t recommend books anymore – unless it’s the Bible – so I don’t take recommendations from anyone for every time someone recommends a book to me, I end up disliking it greatly… I don’t know why. However, there is one book that people kept recommending to me because I used to read voraciously and that is “Evening Class” by Maeve Binchy. I have no idea what it’s about for I want it to be a surprise read.

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

I don’t do Goodreads. I live my TBR life through the bookshelf in my room and I refuse to count how many books left to read – over 300 I guess – but I’ll inform you when I get to 20.

Share Your World – August 13, 2018

It’s been ages since I’ve done Cee’s Share Your World Challenge!

A class you wish you would have taken?

I think I talked about this already, but while attending school, I wished I had gotten the French class instead of the Spanish one for it never benefitted me. I’m currently struggling to learn French because I can’t seem to devote time to sit and study lately. 😄Oh, and graphic design. I love graphic designing. Wish I could’ve taken a class in that.

Are you scared of heights?

No… but I might be if I had to sit on top if a really TALL building!

Are you a good cook? If so, do you consider yourself a chef?

Although I do find myself saving recipes and cooking when I feel like it, it just isn’t for me.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

Nature. I love spending time in nature for I feel closer to my Maker.
