A Coffee Update!
I’m not entirely sure how often I do these kinds of updates.
Anyways, salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.ย
This is a small update on what I’ve been doing lately and the direction in which the blog may go in where it concerns content.
Gardening Project
I’ve been meaning to start a garden last year, but kept putting it off. Now that I have the time, I got the opportunity to start something small with Mom’s help. I don’t have the space to grow big beautiful fruit trees, but I’m working with what the Lord has blessed me with at the moment: pots. Also, I’ll be working on a side project that I’m calling “The Sunflower Project”. I’ll be sharing the lessons I’ve learned while gardening in a later post.ย
Song Writing
Sometime last year – or maybe it was earlier this year – I shared that I wrote songs pertaining to my faith and walk with God and I’ll share one or two if the time is right. Here is a snippet of “The Prodigal”:
And like the prodigal
that I am
I return to You
And you embrace me, Lord
You accept me as I am
You took my sins and
made them white as snow
As You continue to mold me
into the image of the Savior
These songs were given to me through the Holy Spirit to worship and praise my beautiful Creator during different stages of my life. Although I haven’t written down all of them, I wrote down the ones that I got led to. I’ll leave this for a future post.
The Animal Kingdom
Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded by animals especially dogs, cats, and chickens. I’ve learned a lot from God’s creations where it concerns the animal kingdom, and I am still learning lessons through them. Some were painful to swallow. Just recently, I learned one about favoritism. I’ve been thinking of incorporating an animal kingdom category, but that remains to be seen.ย
New Designs
When I saw how much time I had, I made plans to return to drawing, but I ended up spending that time on designing new logos, banners, and signatures for the blog… as you might’ve seen with the newly touched up banner above. I’m excited to share them all in God’s good timing.
What new things have you been up to lately?

Category is…
Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.ย
Sometimes, I don’t quite know how to start a post up and this is one of those moments. But today, I want to talk about categories. I am in the process of deleting and renaming some categories, and I am also in the process of introducing new ones. Although I’ve narrowed it down to 8, they may or may not see the light of day.
I sat on these categories for a while, some as far back as 2017. Yeah, I know, I’m a delinquent. I procrastinate. A lot.ย
Adventures in the Kitchen
Yep, that’s a live feed of me in the kitchen trying to cook. I’m enjoying being in the kitchen lately, so I’ll like to share some of the things I’ve been making or simply enjoy eating.ย
Arts & Craft
It all started in 2017 when I complied the top ten museums I’ll love to visit and my top 10 favorite paintings. Mind you, these posts are still in drafts after all of these years. I recently found some drawings I did when I used to fan girl over stuff and since I’ve been getting the itch to start again – I have to dust off the rust first – I thought this would make a good category.
The Bible in Prophecy
Prophecies straight from the Bible show what has already been established and what is yet to come. Is there an event called the rapture just before the coming of the One True King? What is the 3rd temple? Who/what is the anti-Christ? These are a few topics I’ll like to explore.
Blast from the Pastย
Another category that has been sitting in drafts, withering away since 2017. I had planned to revisit nostalgia through certain TV shows and movies and see if I feel the same way about them. I already have some notes in drafts.
Fairy tale Friday
It all started when I helped a student with a fairy tale thesis and Iโve been meaning to explore the dark world of fairy tales ever since. That is if this category eventually makes the cut.
Lessons from God
This is self-explanatory. God has taught me and has been teaching me so much that I’ll like to share some of the lessons I’ve learned from Him.
Tour Trinidad
I’ve been waiting to launch this category for a while and now, the time is here. This is a subcategory for Travel Tuesday in which I’ll show you around my town.ย
What’s Up Weds
Twice a month (or so), we meet in the middle of the week to interact. Weโll discuss non-personal items such as a favorite treat or what weโre currently reading.
And those are the categories I hope to start working on in the right timing. I’ll have to randomly schedule some of these categories in the future for its only one blog and it’s on its way to becoming congested.ย

30 days of gratitude: Days 17-19
Day 17: What knowledge are you grateful for?
The knowledge of writing, I guess (if that is deemed one). I’ve been writing ever since I was six or so. I recently found a few of my old stories while cleaning out and man, was the handwriting atrocious! ๐คฃ
Day 18: What piece of art are you grateful for?
I think I discussed this last year.ย Charles Auguste รmile Durand, known as Carolus-Duran, has the honor of my overall favorite piece of art titled “Sleeping Man” from 1861.ย
Day 19: What touch are you grateful for today?
My cat! She always waits for me in the gallery on evenings when she knows I’m coming from work and sheย rushes out to greet me with such mewling joy that it makes my heart leap with joy. And she has the softest fur. Almost like pure silk! ๐

October 5th: Eye of the beholder
Describe what it feels like to hear a beautiful piece of musicย or see a stunning piece of art.
I’ll say it’s like, BOOM! Exploding butterflies!
Experiencing a beautiful piece of music makes me feel soothed and that everything in that moment is serene. Well, I can safely say this about “Carl Le Pianiste” when he plays the piano. I actually wrote a short story about talented musicians in Parisian train terminals because I was inspired by some of them.
As for art, well, there is nothing more breathtaking than the free art which God has given to us that makes me stop, pause, wonder, and to be thankful. Nature is unbeatable art! โค

June 27th: The artistโs eye
Is there a painting or sculpture youโre drawn to? What doesย it say to you? Describe the experience. (Or, if art doesnโt speak to you, tell us why.)
I love paintings, but they don’t speak to me. I don’t have that special language down pat. However, I am drawn toย Charles Auguste รmile Durand’sย LโHomme endormiย or Man Asleep or The Sleeping Man. I’ve now used this masterpiece as an inspiration for one of my short stories.ย
April 30th: Art appreciation
Do you need to agree with an artistโs lifestyle or politics to appreciate their art? To spend money on it?
I can look pass an artist’s lifestyle or politics to appreciate their art once its good.

Criminal
NOTE #5
The way she moved
Her hips
Her back
Her neck
In sync…
It was criminal!
For the #NovemberNotes challenge hosted byย Sarah Doughtyย andย Rosema.ย Photo via Pinterest. It is a palette knife painting by California-based artist Henry Asencio. I like his work. And I think I was accidently inspired by Akon’s ‘Criminal’! ๐
Inspired by art (or an artwork or an artist)
DAY 7
TWO JULYS BACK:
I am inspired by almost anything and everyone. I try to see art in my everyday doing because life is art.
Art is the sunrise on mornings or the sunsets on evenings. I am inspired by the art I see in buildings: the churches, the Hall of Justice and even the Library. Even communicating is a way of art.
Nowadays, food and hair are even considered artful.
I donโt have to look for art to be inspired because art is everywhere.
NOW:
I still stand by the above. I don’t have to look anywhere for art when I can see it in God’s wonderful nature, the people around me, and the buildings I pass by on mornings to get to work.
