December 7th: What’s your learning style?

 :

What’s your learning style? Do you prefer learning in a group and in an interactive setting? Or one-on-one? Do you retain information best through lectures, or visuals, or simply by reading books?

I learn better when I work alone. I dislike lectures for I never really paid attention while the teacher was talking for I was busy doodling. Although visuals are nice, I prefer to simply read books.

  1. Glad I was not the only doodler. I’d get so into it, my teachers would grab my notebook, and share it with the class. I think it was their way of discouraging me from doing it again. I am hard headed, so it didn’t work too well. When the teachers would tell my parents about my lack of paying attention. They would punish me but always wanted to know how was I making straight A’s if all I was doing was doodling hahaha.

    1. Hahahaha! What memories! I too was also hard headed. I started off listening well, but if the lecturer gets boring and starts droning, then I start doodling. The only class I paid full attention in was English.

  2. My preferred learning styles are visual and hands-on. I get really frustrated when I attend a lecture and the visuals contradict what is being spoken, because my mind relies more heavily on the visual element. I actually had a professor in college who taught history and he would put maps on the projector and tell us that they were from a different time period than what he was talking about, so the borders of countries weren’t accurate. I couldn’t figure out the purpose of putting up maps that had nothing to do with what he was lecturing about.

    1. Thank you for sharing, Mandie. I relied on visuals for some classes, but at the end of the day, I still had to read. I dislike when history isn’t accurate. >.<

  3. Lol!!! While attending school, I was never serious about learning nor pay attention in the majority of my classes. I would always find myself drawing stuff or just simply sleeping lol! I really enjoyed Art classes tho and Human Biology too hehe! 😊😅…Dee that’s me , you and Marcus in that Gif. Oh and that’s Ray teaching us lol! 😅

    1. Eh, same. I loved English class, so that’s the only time I would pay attention. I also liked Art classes! I passed that class with flying colors. LoL! *sighs* I think I need to get back into Art. Haha! Well, if Ray was my teacher, I would’ve definitely paid attention in school. 🙂

      1. Lol! English wasn’t so bad , back then I didn’t like having the idea of having to write all those paragraphs and essays so on so forth, but I love writing now lol! Who would have ever believed that? Lol that’s awesome you passed it lol, yeah you should get back into it though! Lol, I know right!!! I would have been paying him attention more than the work that was being taught! 😂😂😂😂😂
