I’ve never heard of this dish before, but it’s a spicy meat dish which originated from the Sumatran Minangkabau region of Indonesia. Rendang was traditionally made to celebrate festivals and weddings.
In 2011, this dish was chosen as the number one dish of the “World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods (Readers’ Pick) list in an online poll of 35,000 people conducted by CNN International.
