The Eagle

The Eagle is a bird of prey and the King of Birds! They fly higher than the others and they have no time to mix and gossip with other bird folks. Whenever I think of this bird, I reflect on Isaiah 40:31. The usage of the eagle is a metaphor for strength. Our frailty gives God the opportunity to pour His strength into us when we ask for we can do ALL things through Him that gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

🐦 There are over 60 species of eagles; most of them are from Europe, Asia, and Africa.

🐦 The eagle is the national bird of Kazakhstan, Austria, Mexico, and Germany. The bird is also found on several national flags including Egypt, Serbia, and Moldova.

🐦 The bald eagle takes its name from the fact it has a white head while the rest of its body is brown.

🐦 An eagle’s beak contains keratin, which means that it grows all the time just like human hair and fingernails.

🐦 The eagle is known to be one of the strongest birds able to carry the heaviest loads.

The eagle is a majestic, powerful, and intimidating bird. Don’t believe me? Go watch the Golden Eagle fly in slow motion and watch it stare into your soul at the beginning of the video. I love Eagles so much! 💙

Liebster Award

La Petit Muse is an award-free zone, but I do make exceptions from time to time. 🙂

I was nominated by my bestie Tammy over on Godinspiredart for this award. Mon amie, merci beaucoup! ❤ I’ll also like to thank my mother and father for raising me into the woman that I am today. My sisters for being there for me and… okay, enough playing. Let’s do this.

1. If you could be any animal on earth, what would it be and why?

An eagle. It is the sign of strength given that they soar with ease without flapping their wings. They fly alone (they don’t have no time for bird gossip!), they’re patient and they’re faithful for life and they’re majestic beauties. ❤

2. If you had to write the soundtrack of your life, what would be the first three songs?

Heart of Worship – Michael W. Smith

Forever – Michael W. Smith

Enjoy the Silence – Depeche Mode

3. If your death was imminent, what would you choose as your last meal?

Gaaa! I must’ve bumped into this question like 99 times this year! I’ll have to go with macaroni pie, tiramisu for dessert and coffee. There is always room for coffee.

4. What movie that has not yet been made would you pay good money to see?

The one where they actually told the story from the Biblical point of view and not man’s.

5. What was your favorite age to be and why?

The age that I am now.

6. What is the one book that has most inspired your writing and/or life?

It’s always the Holy Bible.

7. If you could live anywhere you please, without that pesky restraint called money, where would it be and why?

You know there is only one place for me!

Well, that was fun. Thanks again, Tammykins. ❤

Fess-Up Friday: If I were an animal I’d be an …

If you were an animal, what kind would you be?

I disliked this question whenever it was posed to me as a child and as an adult, I dislike it even more and don’t let me start with the fruits and the vegetables! I have no reason in wanting to be an animal, but when the question was posed to me recently I did some thinking. I love dogs, but I couldn’t see myself being a dog.

I came up with two creatures, both birds.

First, the Bald Eagle.

Look at all that beautiful freedom!

I chose the Eagle because they mingle with their own kind: Eagles fly with Eagles, never in a flock. Does that make any sense? Also, no other bird goes to the height of the Eagle. Eagles fly above the storm. They’re brave and strong and ain’t got time for gossip. I soar alone and I have high hopes for my future, therefore, I think the Eagle suits me just fine. Eagles will never be sparrows, seagulls, crows or the common fowl.

To quote Isaiah 40:31: “… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Fly like an Eagle my friend. Fly like an Eagle.

Owl hunts for its prey

I chose the unsociable nocturnal Boreal or Tengmalm’s Owl. Yes, they’re rare and will try to avoid any and all contact with humans. The only thing negative about this cutie is the fact that due to their small stature, they’re often preyed upon by bigger creatures and yes, even larger owls. I used to be unsociable – still a little bit unsociable – and it has nothing to do with being shy. I’m kind of a background person and I’ve accepted that.

And I love owls. Yes, I said it. I have a soft spot for the hooters! What about you? If you were an animal, you would’ve been …?
