Things are going to be a whole lot different this year. I’ve been working on revamping the blog for a while now, gathering topics of interest and sitting on them wondering when it was going to be the right time to integrate them on the blog.

The time is now.

It’s more of a makeover than a total revamp. ๐Ÿ˜’

The tone is going to be serious overall. Things are going to be spoken of that some readers – especially Christians – may not like, but it needs to get out. I’ve been holding back, but this is not the time to be joking around. This is the time to be winning lost souls as the pending arrival date of our Savior gets nearer.

You have been warned. I won’t be holding back on whatever topic I’ll be delivering.

Last year, I was given the word ‘peace’. When that was achieved at the end of 2018, I was given the word ‘restoration’ for this year and it seems like everywhere I turn, I am being reminded of it. I’m not perfect and I do backslide just when I wrongly think that I have it under control. Without God, I wouldn’t be perfect and during this year of restoration, I’m moving aside to let God enter the room.

Another thing you’ll be seeing a lot of are butterflies. Yes, butterflies. The butterfly represents hope, life, and transformation. I hope to become a new butterfly at the end of 2019 be it God’s willing that I live that long.

Where it concerns a new theme, I already looked at some and I narrowed it down to 3. I’ll also be playing around with some fonts.ย I created a few logos last year, but I discarded them. I’ll try to see what I can do with the ones I currently have.

So, what has changed? Is book/movie reviews still going to be published? Is this the end of La Petit Muse as we know it? Maybe the government is reading this as I write?!

Kidding! Just kidding!… Or am I? ๐Ÿ˜†

I plan to stick around for just a little while longer. I’ll be randomly posting topics as usual. There’s a change in schedule as well. Scripture of the Week and Devotional Nuggets will be kicking off the week on Sundays, as well as Song Sunday.ย

Yes, that’s right! I’ll be introducing a few new categories in due time. I want to dedicate Tuesdays to trips and travels. I’ll likely share posts about T&T and possible places I’ll like to visit so we’ll be traveling via blogging! Some Wednesdays would be dedicated to writing and I’m still contemplating on Midweek Mystery at the moment. Another category I’ll be adding is Origins, a series I mentioned in January 2018 that I was interested in doing. It never took off, but I drafted some ideas last year, so hopefully, it’ll take off this year when the time is right.

Also, also, I want to start incorporating quotes at the beginning of my posts, but I’m still sitting on the fence with this one. I may eventually start incorporating more French in my posts as it’s a continuous learning process. Celebrity culture is going to be a recurring theme… you’ll see why soon.

Despite the fun topics, I’ll be focusing more on the Bible, our Creator and Savior, and end time events. Looking forward to flying with you this year.

How I study the Bible.

The headline was originally going to be ‘How to study the Bible’, but I know everyone has a different method of studying God’s inspired written Word.

Reading and studying the Bible is not the same. When my sisters and I were but babies, Mom would read and tell us stories from the Bible and sheย encouraged us to pray. I fell in love with reading at a young age because of my mother’s amazing storytelling ability. While attending primary school in the 4th standard or so, I had a teacher who’ll let us go to the library and take books back to class to read. I would always look for the same 3:ย Rainbow Worldย (I honestly can’t remember the author’s name because it was a variety of stories for children, but I loved that book! I do remember the cover was pink. I figure that the book is out of print now),ย The Three Musketeersย by Alexandre Dumas andย My Book of Bible Stories.

It’ll take me a few more years before I start reading and then studying the Bible. I’ll open the Bible, read where I left off the day before and call it a day. Over time, I came to realize that reading the Bible this way won’t help me. I needed to study God’s Word as if I was hungry and meditate on it as if thirsty so I came up with a new plan.

^ Before I read, I say Revelation 3:20

^ I then pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.ย I ask God to open not only my mind and eyes but also my heart to His Word as I don’t want to attempt to interpret the Bible for this is how misunderstandings are born.

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophetโ€™s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:20-21

^ I then open the Bible and revise what I read previously before beginning a new chapter. At the moment, I am reading/studying Exodus and 1 Corinthians.ย

^ I choose the verse of the day (VOTD) to meditate upon. Tammy and I email our VOTD to each other every day.ย

^ I then pray and thank God for His Word and for showing me how I can apply it in my life.

Throughout the day, I study the Sabbath School lesson for the day and read the daily devotion (morning and evening) on my phone app. I have a physical daily devotional as well which allows me to read the Bible in different sections and it always amazes me how stories fit together from the Old and New Testament. I read this devotional when the sun sets on evenings.

In one of my opening posts last week Monday, I talked about my plans for covering the Bible in depth. I introduced the Bible and showed how I study the Word. Next Sabbath, we’ll probably talk about resources and meditation before diving into Genesis.ย

How do you study the Bible? If a beginner is reading this post, he/she might get an idea of how best they can study the Holy Word.

Stand

Every morning when I wake up, I ask God to be my Guide throughout the day. To keep myย focus on Him, I meditate on His Word and I’ll follow Him wherever He may lead me.

Beautiful words by Margaret who was moved by the Holy Spirit to write this piece. โค

The Word

20170513_102655 God You are the One I want to serve
Youโ€™ve given me more than I deserve
Always I want You to be my Guide
Never again to be fearful, or run and hide
Lord, I donโ€™t always clearly see Your plan
But always Iโ€™ll follow, and on Your Word Iโ€™ll stand

Do not blame God for the suffering

Weโ€™re witnessing death, murders, rapes etc. on a daily basis. We cry out for divine intervention, but it seems as if there is no one Up There to hear us. This may lead some people (even self-doubting Christians) to ask: if there is a God, why isnโ€™t He doing anything to stop this madness?

Why?

Wickedness inhabits the earth. All these things are happening as a result of sin (Romans 3:23). We are slaves to sin (John 8:34; Romans 6:16). And once sin is present, disasters will always be prevalent.

Another thing to remember is that this world is not of God (John 18:36; Romans 12:2). The devil is the current ruler of this world hence the idol worshipping in the form of movie stars, singers, material things etc. Hence the poisonous atmosphere. He is warring with the Prince of Peace, but a time would come when his kingdom will crumble.

Satan is identified as the great deceiver in the Bible disguising himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). He has been a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). He is responsible for contributing to the suffering on earth. For proof, look at what he did to Job and how he tried to get Jesus to bow down to him. What did Jesus do? He quoted scriptures to chase the devil away.

But a Judgment day is coming. A new world (Revelation 21:1) is coming where there is no more suffering, no more pain, no more killing and no more weather disasters.

So when you see these things happening, do not cast your blame upon God. Pray about it. Ask Him to help you understand. Ask Him to guide you through these dark times and if you need your sins forgiven, He is all ears (Romans 6:23; John 1:29).

psalm-3-3

Save Me, O My God

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

3O Lord, how many are my foes!

Many are rising against me;2many are saying of my soul,โ€œThere is no salvation for him in God.โ€ Selah

3But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,my glory, and the lifter of my head.

4I cried aloud to the Lord, and He answered me from His holy hill. Selah

5I lay down and slept,I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.

6I will not be afraid of many thousands of peoplewho have set themselves against me all around.

7Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God!For You strike all my enemies on the cheek; You break the teeth of the wicked.
