May 10th: Morphing


Language evolves. The meaning of a word can shift over time as we use it differently โ€” think of โ€œcool,โ€ โ€œheavy,โ€ or even โ€œliterally.โ€ Today, give a word an evolutionary push: give a common word a new meaning, explain it to us, and use it in the title of your post.

Hmmm… I think I’ll go with ‘camouflage’.ย 

The term came from 1870’s France and it was a street-slang for pickpockets. It camouflaged its way to the US Military and hunting.
