Body scrubs, lotions, and oils by Sadia Cosmetics

The packaging is so beautiful!

Image via Facebook

A few months ago, a friend of mine gave me a few body scrubs, lotion, and oil samples to try from Sadia Cosmetics. I admit that I was a little hesitant at first for I don’t use body scrubs and I’m a loyal servant to Bath & Body Works products.

But I went on to try the samples and I ended up liking some of them.

My favorite body scrub was the Almond Biscotti Dead Sea Salt.

Dead Sea Salt contains minerals such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, and potassium. It can help the skin in many ways such as enhance hydration, calm allergies and reduces puffy skin. It also helps in the fading of stretch marks. It was not rough on the skin and after I washed it off, my skin felt nice and smooth.

I ended up using the oils (calming and energizing oils) to massage my hands and feet after a hard working day. I’ve never really used oils before and I find it very soothing.

The lotions/body butter comes with scrumptious scents such as Amaretto Cocoa and Peppermint Candy Cane. They’re longlasting and smells delicious!

I think these products are decent and what’s nicer is that they’re made locally. Thank you again, Sabrina, for providing me with these samples. I’ll definitely be purchasing some items soon.

Well, October is here.

Where is the time going, huh?

I know I don’t sound excited, but trust me, I am. 😁

I’ve been looking back at 2018 thus far and doing some reflecting. I’ve also been examining the changes and growth within me. I am not perfect and I am still a work in progress, but I’ll always take every opportunity to go to God in prayer and seek forgiveness if I have to. I am thankful for every breath I am given for every day I get closer to my Maker.

And time is certainly getting shorter.

Challenge for octobre

Every month I make plans to start something or complete something (tying up loose ends), but for some reason, I never get around to doing so. Also, I am in the process of revamping the blog once again, but those changes would come early next year God’s willing. Once again, I’ll try to make it my duty to get the product review done and the Tobago trip for this month.

Blessed octobre to all and keep walking with Jesus.

My World Cup story ⚽

Just two more World Cup posts after this one and I’ll get back to regular posting. 😄

I’ve been so excited to share my World Cup experience during the tournament that I forgot to talk about how I became a fan of the beautiful game and why I support Les Bleus. So today, I present my World Cup story. I hope I won’t go overboard while writing. I’ll try to keep it as short as I can.

FRANCE 1998

If you’re born in Trinidad like me and you enjoy football, you root for two teams: Brazil or Mexico. Well, back then. My father grew up thinking that Pelé was the greatest (I went with Diego Maradona later on after watching his style) and Brazil was perhaps the best team to ever play the game. Dad used to play football with the local community team and although he had talent and what it took for him to represent Trinidad on the big stage, he never took up on the offers, instead choosing to see out the rest of his teenage years before going out into the world of work.

Dad insisted that I watch the World Cup for he wanted me to see why he supported Brazil. I was kind of reluctant for I did not want to sit and watch men kick a ball around for 90 minutes. I had to take my words back for later on, I came to love and enjoy football. Anyways, so I watched dad’s team Brazil and I was not impressed although they were the favorites to win it all. But then, then I saw this beautiful team:

This beautiful multicultural French team led by captain Didier Deschamps had my attention. They were nicknamed Black-Blanc-Beur (Black, White & Arab) and they defied stereotypes and they were the underdogs regardless of how great they were doing and this is how Les Bleus became the loves of my footballing life. As the competition wore on, I tuned in for all of their games. At that time, a resident psychic thought she saw it all and made a bold prediction about Brazil winning the WC. I laughed because I knew they weren’t going to beat the French team to it. Even dad was like, “But the psychic said…” I was like, “Dad, I love you, but Brazil is going to Samba back to their country without the ultimate prize.”

On July 12th, the final between Brazil and France was intense, but France’s multiracial Rainbow Warriors won it 3-0 and lifted the trophy with pure joy.

Back then, everyone was talking about Zidane this and Zidane that, but two players stood out for me and they were Didier Deschamps (the captain) and Marcel Desailly.

They had a great friendship and still do. They’re the godfathers of each other’s sons and they always talk fondly of each other.

RUSSIA 2018

Twenty years later, a new generation arrived with Didier Deschamps at the helm once again, this time as coach. Deschamps has led France to its second World Cup victory, twenty years after winning it as a player.

Hugo Lloris

And watch the diversity of our goalies:

I talked a lot about France over the course of this year’s World Cup tournament so I won’t do that here now. This beautiful diverse team is not going to stop racism, but they’re an example of what people can achieve by working together as a team regardless of the color of skin or background.

ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!

Going on a short trip

Image result for gif hi everybody spiderman

A top of the morning to ya! I hope you’ll sieze the day and thank God for breath while at it. I have a short announcement to make: I’m going on a short trip from today until June 04th God’s willing.

Well, it’s not exactly an adventure, for I’m looking forward to relaxing. During those days, I won’t be logging into the virtual world, but this is not my last post for I’ve scheduled a few posts since the beginning of the month. I’ll miss you guys (especially, you, my dearest!), but I’ll catch up on your blogs when I get back. Take care and God bless.

DQ v Pizza Hut: a lesson in customer service

I honestly set out to write this post as a journal entry, but it led to this. Also, this post was supposed to have been writing at the beginning of this month, but eh, I had other better things to do.

Image result for gif customer service

Customer service in Trinidad has long been the talk of the town from city to country. Why? Because it’s hard to come by. I must say that the best service I’ve received is in San Fernando. The people there are nice, outgoing, friendly, and always willing to help no matter which store I may venture into.

The best service I’ve ever received from a restaurant is Rizzoni’s. The people there were pleasant and courteous. Customer service over the phone? I don’t always count on it, but my bank is great at this, so kudos to you, bank!

Last month, we (as in my sisters, Tammy and I) visited Dairy Queen for my birthday after work. It was just a small intimate thing and I wanted a cold treat for it’s been a while since I’ve had ice cream. DQ had a special, I think it was 4 items for $40 or something like that, but it didn’t come across that way. We thought the advertised special was saying 4 sandwiches for $40 so we enquired of the cashier and she took time to explain the special thoroughly.

We gave our orders and then sat down to wait. I was pleasantly surprised when a few minutes later, someone bought the sweets to our table. I had the strawberry cheesecake blizzard, but it was not what I expected it to be and I had to exchange with my sister who had the turtle peacan which was soooo delicious. I was actually surprised at how small the hamburger was and not to mention soggy. Although the food was not something to scream about and I don’t think I’ll return, I was pleased with the excellent customer service. They get a full five for going all out for the customer.

Now on to Pizza Hut!

Whenever I’m in the mood for a delicious slice of pizza, my go-to options are Mario’s or Pizza Boys. Although I didn’t want to go, my sister wanted to treat me for my birthday at Pizza Hut and this time, it was 5 of us. Our waitor was slothful from the get-go and unwilling to explain something off the menu for my friend. When our orders came, he unceremoniously rest the food and the condiments at the edge of the table. If he could’ve dumped it, I am certain that he would’ve done so. The Maître D was also unpleasant and there was an instance where she was walking the floor, someone stopped her to ask a question, and she said, “Tell the person serving your table,” after listening to the question.

The food and the company was good, but the service was dirt poor. Maybe it was an off night for the lad and management, but their attitude was offputting.

Thursday Ten: top 10 destinations

My travel plans always seem to fall through at the last minute and I am beginning to dislike making them, but I wanted to do something fun today. 😄

Image result for gif travel

I love exploring my country, reading about travel adventures, and watching astonishing videos/pictures of many countries. Sadly, I am yet to fulfill my travel dreams. 😞But that doesn’t mean that I can’t share my top 10 travel destinations at the moment!

1. France

I’ve been wanting to visit France ever since I was a child when I discovered The Three Musketeers and became an immediate Francophile. With 89 million visitors (how do they even count these things?) in 2017, France retains its crown as the world’s most visited country. Paris alone sees more than 30 million visitors a year making it the most visited city in the world. France has everything and something for everyone.

2. Iceland

This travel destination became quite popular over the last two years thanks to Iceland’s participation in Euro 2016, but I’ve been wanting to visit for a long time. I’ll love to experience the Northern Lights during full dark nights (September to mid-April are said to be the best season) and to visit the Crystal Ice Cave in Vatnajökull. Iceland is magnificently beautiful and it’s like an ode to nature.

3. Los Angeles

This place is more than just glitz and glam. There’s the Santa Monica Pier, Grand Central Market, Griffith Observatory, OUE Skyspace LA etc. Angelenos will delightfully tell you that their city twinkles brightly when night falls.

4. Nantucket

This isolated island off Cape Cod will be my perfect getaway! Just think about the lighthouses, the beaches, the museums, the mill, and not to mention, the bike paths! This is island living at its best! I also enjoy reading books that feature this beautiful escape.

5. India

Beauty at its best. She is rich in culture and sits upon layers of history and she fascinates me. She is the land of spices, a land of rich culture and one of heritage. And her attractions are top class: Morning boat rides in Varanasi, Dhuandhar Falls, the Himalayas, the wildlife etc. She is also home to Darjeeling, the world’s best tea.

6. Peru

I’m not going to lie, whenever someone says ‘Peru’ I think of the cute alpacas! 😄Anyway, Peru is home to Cusco which was once the capital of the Inca empire, the beautiful Lake Titicaca and of course, Machu Picchu.

7. Mexico

Whenever I think of Mexico, I think of civilizations of thousands of years! There is so much to see and do in this gorgeous place! I’ll love to visit the ancient Mayan city of Uxmal and see Puuc architecture up close. Cancun is always a good idea, too.

8. French Polynesia

PARADISE! Consisting of beautiful islands such as Tahiti, Papeete, Bora Bora, and 115 more dispersed islands, I can live out the rest of my life here.

9. Greece

Opa! Greece has more than 1400 islands and perfect climate conditions. It is completely surrounded by the Mediterranean sea and so much history! Delphi off the coast of Mykonos is covered with Ancient Greek ruins so you know where you’ll find me.

10. Romania

Home to the world’s heaviest building (Palace of the Parliament) and the world’s most beautiful road (the Transfagarasan highway), Romania is rich in history and beautiful sights. Everything about Romania is spectacular!

Over to you now: Where was your favorite destination to visit? If you’re yet to travel like me, where would you like to go?

It’s been a weird week

Image result for gif hello

Greetings fellow human beings. How was your week?

I know I said that I’ll be logging in twice a week during my time away from the blogging world, but things didn’t work out this week somewhat. I logged in on Wednesday but I didn’t get the time to catch up on as many blogs as I would’ve liked to. The same thing happened yesterday which concluded in me spending close to an hour trying to read blogs. I have to be honest though, my heart wasn’t into it.

Image result for gif heart break

So I decided to log back in today and see if I can catch up on what I’ve missed in the past days, but this week wasn’t a good one for me generally speaking. I did not get as many things done as I would’ve liked. I still have emails to return and appointments to make, but it just wasn’t happening. When I got home on evenings before I know it, I was out cold until the next morning. I’ll try to get to the emails on the weekend if not this evening and I had my mind set on updating Bible Studies this weekend, but that’s most likely not going to happen.

I hope I can make up for this week sometime next week God’s willing when I’m all rested up. May your weekend be stressfree and restful.
