Journal entry #5: I feel the need… the need to fly! ✈️

21st May 2017

I’ve been doing some thinking lately.

I am content with what God has given me: life, family, friends, church, pets, this blog, my job etc. But I’ve been doing some soul searching because I’ve been feeling restless lately, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I am ready to turn another chapter in my life. I am ready to do whatever it takes for me to achieve this goal.

It is time for me to fly once again.

I keep telling people to do what they love and it’s about time to do something else that I love.

Journal entry #4: Birthday vibes 💙

19th April 2017

I haven’t done one of these entries in a bit!

Anyway, I have many things to be thankful for this beautiful month. It was a month fill with joy, laughter, and love, and I got to spend it with the best people in the world: my friends and family. 💙

I took a week vacation and during that time, I turned one year wiser. I don’t make a big deal of my birthday; I’m just always grateful to be alive when the BIG day arrives. I am not one to celebrate my birthday, but when in the company of loved ones, how can I pass this up? So on April 19th (nope, not my date of birth. Actually, Suri Cruise shares a birthday with me 😛 ), we descended upon Rizzoni’s at Movietowne, which is my favorite hangout.

It was six of us and it was our first time there. I have to commend the service. Everyone was accommodating as soon as we stepped inside and our hostess was wonderful! In short, service was a 10/10 and we were given a waiting table to return. So whenever they call, we’ll definitely be there.

My sisters took these photos:

I didn’t have this pizza, but it sure looked yummy!

One of my friends had this. I can’t remember the name of the dish, but she tremendously enjoyed it.

One of my friends just had to let our kind host know that I was celebrating a birthday, and I was serenaded by staff and presented with this delicious vanilla ice cream.

Catch up soon

Hello! I just wanted to thank those who stopped by today to read, like or comment on my posts. I also want to thank my new followers. At the moment, I am exhausted and I need to get some rest. I’ve scheduled some posts for tomorrow God’s willing as well as it is most likely that I won’t be logging on this weekend (who knows? I’ll try for Sunday).

I did not get to read any blogs today, but I hope to catch up soon. I thought if I got around to blogging around my work schedule I would’ve gotten the time to catch up with reading the blogs when I got home, but it wasn’t to be.

And no, I won’t apologize for The Mummy posts. 😛

Take care, stay safe, walk with God and have a great weekend.

Journal entry #3: Tsunami drill

It’s been a while since I’ve done a journal entry. This one is going to be short. 🙂

Today at work we had a tsunami drill and we had lots of walking to do. Lots of calm walking to get to the evacuation site. I appreciated the walk because Chaguaramas is a beautiful place with plenty hiking trails but in a real life situation, people would be RUNNING for higher grounds!

Yes, I work near the sea, something I considered a blessing before construction work on a water park started to block my view. Back to the drill, our evacuation site is a gun range. When we got there we had to bear the heat and wait it out for instructions which barely came. Then one of the wardens announced that if we see any shells on the ground to not pick it up.

Nope. No spent shells here.

It was funny because no one bothered with even looking down at the ground before. After the warning, most of the boys (and some gals) looked down hopefully at the ground in hopes of finding a spent shell or two.

Bearing the heat

Although we had to spend some time away from our desks in the unbearable heat which made us grumble about cold showers, it was a beautiful day. 🙂

*** All pics are mine. I didn’t have my clearer phone camera with me.

February 18th: Far from normal

Green Wooden Board With Heart Hole

Many of us think of our lives as boringly normal, while others live the high life. Take a step back, and take a look at your life as an outsider might. Now, tell us at least six unique, exciting, or just plain odd things about yourself.

^ I don’t do selfies.

^ I can bend my ankles right back until they touch the floor… in heels. I’ve had people tell me that it was cool and I’ve also had people tell me that it scares them because I can break my ankles.

^ I’m in love with the law! I know I’ll never be a lawyer and I could never see myself representing a dishonest client, but I am in love with anything law and I make it my business to read up on courtroom drama and watch TV shows relating to law. My favorite law movie is The Firm. The book was also quite enjoyable.

^ Blue is my favorite color… although I mostly wear black.

What is the strangest/weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

When it comes to food, I am not adventurous. I try to stay away from unappetizing things.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I normally read and study the Bible save for that one Bible study class I had a few years ago. I started to study the Bible with renewed interest and I am learning many new things. I also downloaded some Bible study material via the Google play store (they have so many great apps!) and it has been a blast! Um, I don’t know what I’m quite looking forward to next week God’s willing as I haven’t thought that far ahead.

This is Week 4 of  Cee’s Share Your World Challenge

Do you prefer juice or fruit?

Definitely fruits!

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

Small. I used to like it when I was little, now, I feel as if it’s just suffocating me. I’m working on getting out of it.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

Hmm, I had a colorful childhood.
