Reading some blogs and leaving some likes

Good morning, everyone! Well, it was morning when I started composing this, but looking at the time on the PC, I see that we’re easing into the afternoon. We just have like four more minutes and bam! Afternoon.

Anyways, I just wanted to leave this here: I am a little slow in replying to comments, following, and reading blogs because I’ve been trying to complete the challenge that I’ve set for myself for this year’s NaNo: 50,000 words by November 28th. Well, it is the 28th and I don’t have 50,000 words as yet, for I’ve taken a small writing break over the weekend to focus on other things. I might have to wait until the 29th to pass 50,000. 😛

I have 11,000 words more to reach my goal, but I’ll see how that goes. I think I have two posts scheduled for this evening, but I am not sure. Anyway, I hope you’re having a wonderful Tuesday! I hope to get back into the swing of blogging things around here soon, but in the meantime, I am reading some blogs and leaving some likes.

Journal entry #6: Happy 01st spiritual birthday to me!

 :

29th October 2017

This is the day that I answered the call to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior… exactly one year ago.

As a little girl, I attended church with my mother, and I’ll sit down and pay attention to the pastor. I thought that having God in my life was a win-win situation, but growing up, I slowly, but surely drifted away (by neglecting His Word and not attending church). School got in the way and then work (I believe that school and work is a form of imprisonment!). Eventually, I put Him on the back burner in favor of trying to make it on my own. No, I did not attend parties for where there is a crowd, I don’t hang, but I was interested in the entertainment industry as I wrote songs and scripts.

I would still pray and thank God for waking me to see another day, for the meal He provided and for the roof over my head, but it was not the same as having an intimate relationship with Him. Last year, I sat down and prayed about it and I was pointed to church, an important part of my new spiritual life that I knew I was missing, but somehow ignored. After attending a few months of church, my spirit was renewed and I started to draw/feel closer to Him.

There was only one more step left for me to do: baptize. The decision was not mine to be made, but His, and at the time He made known that it was time for me to go into the water, I was excited and nervous. Excited because I was finally putting my life in His hands; nervous because I dislike venturing out at sea although I love the sea! 🙂

Being baptized and accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior was singlehandedly the most incredible experience of my life. I wished I had accepted His salvation sooner, but those trials and tribulations made me who I am today. I am still a newborn babe, but I strive every day to live as He wants me to and to do His will and not mine.

An apology and blessed weekend

                  You’ve got mail…

Earlier this week, I talked about starting the Social Media Theme which would’ve kicked off with cyberbullying, but I couldn’t get around to writing any of the presented topics. I started two of them, but I did not get the time to complete and post. I know a few of you (by few, I mean two 🙂 ) had expressed interest in this topic and I apologize for the delay.

I also had to write my thoughts on Criminal Minds thus far and the premiere of the second season of Riverdale, but unfortunately, time was not my friend this week. I’ve scheduled a few posts for this weekend, but I’ll try my best to make up for Social Media Theme starting on Monday be it God’s willing.

All there’s left to do now is wish every single one of you a blessed and restful weekend! Thank you for stopping by this week to read and share your opinions. I utmost appreciate it. ❤

Blog cleanup!

A few months ago, I toyed with the idea of starting a new blog, but given that I did not have enough time to spare for blogging, I let the idea slide. However, I came to a decision earlier today to clean up this blog which I’ll be doing probably for the rest of October be it God’s willing. I’ll be deleting posts and categories and probably adding new ones in the process. That’s 2,039 posts to go through!

The cleaning up may take a while, but it won’t affect my posting schedule.

Nourishing my spiritual life

Attending church is not going to get us into the Kingdom of Heaven. We have to do more.

“How can I hear God’s voice?”

In this technology age, maintaining a spiritual life can be hard, but it can be accomplished once you have the right mindset. Some people wrongly think that attending church on the weekend – whether it’s Saturday or Sunday school – is all that they need to live a full spiritual life, but they’re wrong. We have to do much more.

I’ve been examining my spiritual life lately and I see some areas that need nourishment.

Praying throughout the day

I am calm whenever I talk to Him. I feel at ease whenever I pray and it helps me stay connected to Him. I used to pray when I wake up on mornings and when I go to sleep at night, but now, I pray throughout the day. Even if I’m working and I feel the need to pray, I stop whatever I’m doing and I pray.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17: Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.

Sitting quietly in a room

I like sitting alone in a quiet room and reflecting. I also meditate and think of all the things that I am grateful for even if it was a bad day. I also use this quiet time to pray for everyone. It is in this stillness that I can hear God whisper.

Apps

I love the apps that I have on my phone! Every morning, I turn to my Daily Prayer app for the prayer of the day. I have Bible quiz apps, a Bible Study and of course, the Bible. Indulging in these apps have helped me grow spiritually. ❤

Practicing gratitude

When the sun sets on the day, I reflect and thank God for life, for whatever blessings I’ve received during the day. I used to own a gratitude journal, but I have misplaced it. I might have to get another one.

Reading material online

When I get to my work desk – after saying a little prayer of thanks and listening to Michael W. Smith on repeat for almost an hour right before I open for business – I log into WordPress and seek spiritual refreshments from blogs such as soulfood101blog aka The Word, The Way OnlineA Sinner’s DiaryBeholding Him MinistriesInside Cup and Be Blesstified. These blogs play an important role in shaping my daily spiritual life. Keep up His wonderful work, guys! ❤

Keeping the Sabbath

I have been struggling to keep the Sabbath holy, but I am getting better at it. On the days that I don’t attend church, I study His Word, complete Bible quizzes, and Bible study with my sister/father.

Exodus 20:8 – Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Scripture meditation

This is utmost important for me! The Bible has verses for when I am afraid, when I backslide and when I need comfort. I highlight the verses that speak to me and I meditate on them throughout the day.

What about you? Is your spiritual life fully nourished or are you working on it? Is there anything that you’ll like to add to the list?

Void of inspiration at the moment

Man, I wish I had a twin!

Okay, that was random. But really, I wish I had a twin. We’ll do twin things…

…and when I’m void of inspiration, my twin would pick up the slack…

…and make me look good. 🙂

Okay, maybe I am referring to a clone, but it does not chase away the fact that lately, I am not feeling inspired.

For the last two weeks or so, I’ve been feeling really uninspired where it concerns… almost everything. I don’t feel like blogging although I have so many incredible topics to share. My writing has taken a backseat because I am not excited about completing what I’ve started. Sometimes I don’t feel like going to work on mornings because all I want to do is stay in and sleep.

Maybe I need to step away from everything for a little while.

Maybe I am afraid to step away for a little while because I may not be inspired to come back to this blog.

But!

For now, I’ve decided to update the blog randomly (nice word for saying whenever I feel like). Maybe I can reblog a few old posts or stick them to the top of the page like my friend Cheila did. I don’t want to quit the blog, but I’m just really uninspired at the moment so the posts may dry up for a bit.

Still, though, I wish I had a twin because twinning is winning! Ay, I think I have an idea for a future post! Have a blessed weekend everyone. ❤

What is one thing you’re glad you tried but would never do again?

Pork. I was not even glad that I tried it in the first place.

Did you choose your profession or did it choose you?

When I was in Primary school, you can say that I always knew I’ll end up working in a library.

Best believe, librarians have a lot of fun and not the boring stereotypical type that you see on TV.

Have you ever gotten lost?

I wish! Okay, I’m kidding. No.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Like I always say, ‘Surprise me, God.” 🙂
