This is where I take some time off

Hey, it’s that time already. March is here. 😃

I don’t know about you, but February went by slowly. March is here now and I look forward to what this month may bring… besides the books I’m planning to read of course! This is also the month in which I’ll be seeing less of WordPress, although I’ve started to distance myself from blogging late last month. I’m also slow in visiting blogs I follow. But fear not! I’ve scheduled enough posts and I’ll be popping in twice a week or so to catch up with blogs.

The future of La Petit Muse?

Well, at the moment, I can’t really say, but I’ll be continuing the Bible study series from next Sabbath God’s willing. Maybe I’ll share some of the stories I’m currently working on just for the fun of it. I also have some tags that I want to complete this month, so might as well do that along with some book reviews. Also, I aim to complete those long overdue social media articles! I dislike it when I start something and never finish it. 😆

How long is this ‘break’ going to continue for? I don’t know, but I’ll be around.

Somehow, this month’s challenge ties into my current blogging situation.

Challenge for mars

Seems Appropriate: 30 Day Blogging Challenge | BlogHer

Looking at it now, it’s kind of eh, but I’ll see how best I can complete this challenge.

Blessed mars to all.

Bring it on, février!

This post is late, but I’m here now. 🙂

It’s February!

Last month I said that I was not going to do any more monthly planning, but I have a few ideas that I want to work on this month:

* Look back at my 2017 blogging journey. I tried to do so last month, but things just kept coming up.

* I want to talk about languages (and cultures) this month and what they’ve taught me.

* Begin the Bible study series. I am still sorting out my notes.

* Book and movie reviews.

I can’t wait to share my new content with you! 🙂

I’m a day late, so I’m going to catch up now. I’ve been wanting to do this challenge for a long time ever since I came across it on Pinterest.

Blessed février to all.

Blog plans for 2018

Okay, so, it’s janvier 01st aka Page 1 of 365 days.

For the past few months, I’ve been thinking of the direction I want to take La Petit Muse in for 2018. It’s still going to be a pretty random-no-genre-attached blog, but there are some things that I want to add and some that I want to take away. Two of those things might be Poetry Wednesday and Writing Wisdom Wednesday. They may make way for Midweek Mystery and Fairytale Friday/Origins. Also, whenever I plan to write a specific topic, I tend to stray away from it, so there’ll be no more monthly planning. I still have topics from Social Media Week to complete, so I’ll try to do so by February.

This also might be my last year for blogging, so I want to make the most out of it. 🙂

New Direction

This year, we’re going to talk mostly about God, books, and writing. We’re going to be open to controversial topics. We’re going to talk about gods and goddesses. Origins. Fairytales. Mysteries. Haul books. We’re going to cover the Bible – book to book – in depth, something that I started doing last year, but did not get around to posting on the blog.

I love blogging and consider it a passion, rather than a hobby, but this year, I would not be blogging daily, I would be scheduling a lot and taking lots of time off. Well, hopefully.

New Theme

I’ve been looking for a new theme since last July or so, but I haven’t met none that I like quite yet, so hopefully, WordPress gets fresher themes this year. However, before the week is out, I’ll try to choose one.

Back to the Past

I don’t watch TV shows or movies like I used to, but this year, I want to start the back to the past challenge, something that I’ve been given to do since 2016. Basically, I have to watch some TV shows and movies from my past and see if I feel the same way about them. I already chose three shows I used to love. As for the movies, I’ll just try to finish the Tom Cruise Challenge. I want to get that over and done with, so I’ll try to watch one movie every two-three weeks.

Challenge for janvier

This is a 30 day book challenge! Try it out! Paste to FB, Blog it or write it out by hand!

What better way to kick off the monthly challenge than looking back at books I’ve read? I’ll be doing this challenge with Tammy. ❤

Blessed janvier to all.

Reblog: No matter the gift, appreciate it.

I don’t celebrate Christmas, but keep in mind that you should be grateful for whatever gift you may receive this month.

Red and White Heart Print Box

I don’t celebrate Christmas.

When I was younger, I used to celebrate it with my family and friends although I’ve never liked it. I’ve never liked the excessive spending, the blinking lights, the festivities, so when I grew up, I simply stopped celebrating it. It just never felt right with me.

Lately, many parents say that they don’t celebrate Christmas, but they do it for the sake of their children. They enjoy buying presents to see their little happy faces.

Here is where I want to talk about gift giving. There are some people who look forward to Christmas because they look forward to the gifts that they would be receiving instead of giving.

It is better to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).

And not only on Christmas Day. We should be giving every day. And speaking of gifts, I recently came across an article in one of our dailies…

November reflection

November 2016 Journal Prompts - Gratitude and Joy. New prompts released the beginning of each month >> Eight Pepperberries blog

I had forgotten all about this reflective post that I said I was going to do at the end of November!

Image result for gif coffee pouring

1. Everyone currently in my life right now including you wonderful bloggers.

2. Eating with the family.

3. I can’t recall the last silly thing I did for I was caught up trying to complete the NaNoWriMo challenge last month.

4. I don’t celebrate the holidays… not one of them.

5. See Q4.

6. Pray, seeking my Father’s advice.

7. Objects don’t bring me joy.

8. I am grateful for the writing talent that God has given me, the ability to speed read and to design.

9. By being the example. Teaching starts at home and parents should teach their children about gratitude by showing them how to appreciate something/someone.

10. Thank you, God, for the blessings. Every night we still pray though… taken from Dobre Brothers’ No Fakes.

Dynamic December!

I honestly love this GIF because it made me laugh out loud today and I needed it. I came up with a few short stories on the spot about why Mr. Cruise is looking at the toilet sign in despair, but the GIF is taken from when TC made an appearance on The Late Night Show with James Corden. I think Corden lacks in the humor department so I don’t watch the show, but for some reason, this episode was recommended to me and I watched it and laughed my head off. It was a pretty good skit, but no, I still won’t be wasting my time watching his show.

Anyway, doesn’t matter, because it’s December!

Can you believe this? It’s already December! The time is just getting shorter and shorter day by day. I mean, where did November go?

December Plans!

Fresh from participating in NaNoWriMo, I am looking forward to catching up on some posts I drafted for this month and by the looks of it, we have much to talk about. I am looking forward to updating some categories (Yes, This Is Our World, English English! and Pretty Cool Fact especially) and I have something in store for Thankful Thursday which would involve the blogs that I follow.

This month (if I stay on track), we’ll talk about stuff like:

^ Languages

^ Book Covers (might get push back to January, to be honest)

^ Blogging (this one is a maybe although I have many topics in drafts!)

^ Editing

^ Family

See, the blog is so random and I have so many ideas, that sometimes, I don’t know where to start.

Over on Pinterest, I’ve pinned over 50 challenge ideas for the blog in the last few months, but I’ve decided on this one:

Whoa, I better slow my roll there for this month looks like it’s going to be packed!

Blessed December to everyone, thank God that you have breath, and remember to…

Novel November!

I’m sitting here reflecting on October and I am thankful to God that I got to live it. Most of the things that I set out to do was accomplished (except that wine and food pairing display that I was supposed to do eons ago for the library). All in all, it was a spectacular month!

Hello, November!

Even though it’s happening in small doses, lots of changes are coming to La Petit Muse… although I am thinking of opening a new blog. I used to have five blogs, now I am down to two, but for the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking of opening another one where I can dump world news events etc. But for now, I think this one works fine.

It’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), so depending on how things go, November might be my busiest month yet, but I’ll embrace it as it comes.

this is my new favorite GIF; it has EVERYTHING that I like in it: twins, scarf, nice hair, smiles, that black & white striped tee, the goofiness, smiles… 🙂

As I said yesterday, I’ll like to introduce a few new series in a timing, and although I’m going to putting in a lot of writing this month, I’ll be doing two challenges that I’ve chosen since last month:

November 2016 Journal Prompts - Gratitude and Joy. New prompts released the beginning of each month >> Eight Pepperberries blog

30 Day Blog Writing Challenge - National Blog Post Month!

I know they’re old and one is a journal prompt, but I think of my blog as a journal and challenges never go out of style. Hmmm.. I think I’ll use the journal prompt as a reflection for the end of the month.

I am happy to be where I am at the moment and I give all my blessings to God. ❤

Excuses be gone!

I haven’t written in a while because I have work. No, you don’t understand, I am tired when I reach home on the evenings and all I want to do is sleep. See, it’s a routine thing. I don’t have enough time to write. I have this and I have that and I blame anemia!

I recently sat down and pondered about my writing. I love writing! It’s a passion that I’ve embraced when I was as young as six (back then, my imagination was wilder than a runaway stallion!) and it’s a talent that I am thankful to God for. However, I don’t see myself as a future published author, so I don’t have to write every day to practice my skill.

Image result for gif excuse

Right. I am just full of excuses, aren’t I?

Image result for gif tom cruise yes

That’s why I’ve decided to get rid of all the excuses in my writing life!

If I can make time to source YouTube for inspiring, fun, educational, and family-oriented videos, then I can certainly make time to write even if it’s just for one hour. If I can make time to partake in an activity after work, then I can certainly get some writing done even if it’s just one sentence. I have so many unfinished stories that I am itching to get to, but because of excuses, I let them die. From today, there’ll be no more excuses when it comes to my writing.

I apologize for this rant, but it had to be done. I trust that you’re having an awesome Sunday nevertheless. God bless. 🙂
