Goal counter: January ✨

Hello, and welcome to another…

This is where I talk bloggy stuff. Give little updates, etc. Today, we’ve come to the end of a wonderful start to 2020 both in the virtual world and in the land of the living. This month, I debuted a new sign-off signature for LPM and have actually gone on to create a few others which would make their debut in the Lord’s timing. I also started using a planner and…

…I did not stick to it. Yep, your girl started off using it just fine, then revert back to the sheer randomness when it comes to posting. So, instead, I listed a few short-termed goals that I wanted to achieve this month. Et voila!:

* I did not know how my reading was going to start off this year, so I listed 5 books to read. I ended up reading 17 books, just 2 more than Jan 2019! I get to cross about 8 books off my TBR for the others weren’t on it.

* I plan to restudy Exodus soon. This month, I did not get the time to start for I was working on a Genesis recap.

* This was accomplished: Gratitude is an Attitude. It’s where I write thank you entries on a daily basis. I’m currently looking into another writing format, but so far, I am happy with the way the entries are coming along and I thank God for it.

* I believe I’ve found it! In the right time, I’ll make the change if it’s to be.

* Happy that this was accomplished for I don’t blog for an entire week anymore. I hope to do this once a month for the rest of the year.

* Although this one is crossed off, I did manage to introduce a new category: Heart Reflections. I did not realize it until I was going back through the entries that I posted for this month. Originally, I had plans to introduce Adventures in the Kitchen, but all things work for good.

* I got the majority completed so bless God! 💙

* Accomplished! It’ll be introduced within the new theme if all goes according to plan.

In February, I want to direct my attention to reviews for books, TV shows, and movie trailers if there’s time to do so. Who knows? Maybe I’ll dedicate a week to do so.

God’s peace be with you.

🎉 Confetti! 🎊

Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann celebrates scoring their second goal.

Joy blossomed inside me

And all I wanted to do was

throw confetti at the world!

Throw it up anywhere

Watch it fall everywhere

Confetti!

I love confetti! While coming up for the new signature for the blog (which you’ll see shortly), I got led to use confetti, and I was very pleased with the outcome (although it may be subject to change in the future). I bless God for the new signature.

May God’s peace and grace be upon you in 2020. 💙

A thankful blog! 🆕

Hello WP fam! I trust that you’re getting ready for 2020 and I pray that it’ll be a blessing for you. I am currently working on a new blog and it’s quite a work in progress as it is with opening a new blog. Coming up with the name this time around was easy for the blog is going to be base on thankfulness, so I ended up naming it Gratitude is an Attitude.

Thank you, Yvette! 💙

Yvette over on priorhouse.blog took the time to remind me of a recurring problem with my blog: the link was not showing up for a while now – since last month or so – and I paid no real attention to it. Silly me! Yesterday, she reminded me yet again that although my comment was showing up, the link back to my blog was still not working which resulted in the blog not showing up in her Reader.

So, it was time to get down to fix the persisting problem.

At first, I Googled the possible reason behind the problem and I was told it was Gravatar and perhaps the image was poorly rated or something like that. Anyway, to make a long story short, after going around in circles, I eventually consulted the Director of this blog (God) and the Holy Spirit guided me, showing me that the problem was STARING me in the eye all along.

And just like that, the problem was fixed and the link back to the blog was working; thank You, God! I should have consulted God first. Despite yesterday being hectic, I have no excuse as to why I didn’t speak to God first. Had I done so, I wouldn’t have run around in circles for two hours or so!

And thank you, Yvette, for reminding me of the problem for you encouraged me to resolve this issue once and for all.

Une petite pause ✋

*Ponders* According to how fast I say the word ‘hiatus’ it kind of sounds like ‘hi haters’. 🤔 Or maybe it’s just me?

Anyways, mesdames et messieurs, this is to inform you that I’ll be missing in action for a week or three. Yes, you heard right. I am taking a break away from blogging although it seems like I’ve just returned. But it’s only for a short while. I don’t have anything scheduled except Scripture of the Week.

So, you know what I’m going to do: take my jacket off…

Image result for gif tom cruise is daddy

…and relax. Actually, I won’t be relaxing. I have a lot of things that I need to do including projects, therefore, this break is actually going to be beneficial in getting those things out of the way. Also, I need to spend some alone time with God so it’s going to be a reflective, self-examine and cleansing period for me.

I’m going to miss you, but we’ll reconcile soon. I know the last time I said this (last December) and I ended up returning later than the planned date (April instead of January).

May God bless you. 💙

Good afternoon, good evening, good night, or morning. Firstly, I apologize for being M.I.A. for the past few days on your blogs, but I’ve been unwell and needed the rest. I’ll try my best to rectify those visits soon. Also, I’m in the process of shopping for a new laptop for the current one is slowly, but surely shutting down and I’m just milking it until its final goodbye. At the moment, I’m unable to access all the blogs I read and I can’t reply back to emails so please bear with me. This post might even take the entire day! 😅😫

The posts that popped up over the weekend were scheduled {on my work computer} and I’m yet to reply to your comments, but I appreciate and thank you for stopping by to read, browse and/or comment.

Now, to blog business.

Last month I talked about the changes to come on the blog, but I’ve been slow in fulfilling them due to limited time although I have some ideas and half-finished posts in drafts. I’m still deciding which ones to start on…

Allow me to walk you through a few categories/topics I’m pondering on.

A to Z Challenge

These can be fun depending on the topic and I intend to complete at least 2 this year with a focus on nature specifically animals.

Adventures in the kitchen

Heh! I’m not friends with the kitchen, but we’re trying to be besties. 😁I look forward to chronicling my cooking and baking adventures {if I get to it} so stay tuned for this one!

Bible thoughts

I know I’m still trying to complete the study of Genesis, but I’ll like to add something to our Bible studies like a monthly study question, a thought, a reflection or an activity.

Blast from the Past

In which we revisit a few childhood shows/movies to see if we still feel the same way about them. To be honest, this is something I’ve been meaning to get done since 2017, but the time was never right so the project never took off. I made notes on the few selected shows so it’s only to fetch them from drafts. If it doesn’t take off this year, then I know it’s not meant to be.

Cultural Behavior/Differences

I love learning/reading/discovering what is considered the norm in different societies! I’m not too sure if this one is a green light as yet, but I’ll like to share what I’ve learned.

Fairy Tale Friday

This project has been on my mind for a few years now. It all started when I helped a student with a fairy tale thesis and I’ve been meaning to explore the world of fairy tales ever since. Not too sure about this one at the moment, but I’ll love to get to it one day.

Follow Friday

I came across the thankful blog series I started last year and realized that I never completed it so I’ll like to restart the engine on this one.

Testimony Thursday

I want to start sharing thankful and blessed accounts of the Lord’s goodness from across the web. I may also want to look at different testimonies besides our personal one.

Trailer Reaction (skip it or watch it?)

This one speaks for itself and I look forward to rating trailers.

What UP Wednesday!!

Twice a month (or so), we meet in the middle of the week to interact. We’ll discuss non-personal items such as a favorite treat or what we’re currently reading.

Did any of these new categories spark an interest? Let me know in the comment section below! Thank you for reading, and yes, this post took up almost the entire day. 😩

Ghost comments!👻

Déjà vu! That’s what it is. Déjà vu, I tell you.

Oh, hi guys.

Image result for gif waving hi

I just have a few things that I need to get off my chest, so please bear with me a little.

Ghost Comments👻

WordPress is back at it again. For the past few days, I’ve been leaving comments on some blogs only to see it disappear. Please check your spam folders for comments from bloggers for they’re most likely to appear there. I don’t think WordPress is likely to solve this problem permanently.

Slow Reading 🐌

Since I’ve returned from my hiatus last month, I’m spending less time on WordPress for time is limited. The result is slow-reading of your blogs, but I do try to make use of the time whenever I log in, so I mostly read blogs from the Reader or whenever I’m replying to comments I’ll pop in at your blog. I hope to rectify this soon.

Still under construction 🚧

Despite changing the fonts (which I love!) and the banner, I’m still searching for a theme. The Penscratch 2 theme is the one I may eventually go with whenever I decide it’s time to change this theme. I also like the Eventbrite Single Event theme. Also, I’m reworking the ‘Bonjour’ page. So many changes to go; all in God’s timing.

And congrats Spurs!Related image

This has got to be the most romantic season of Champions League and Europa League for the English! Well, where my team Tottenham Hotspur is involved. Hugo Lloris captained France to World Cup victory last year and now he has captained Spurs to a CL final against Liverpool. If they win, Lloris for Ballon d’Or! Ah, just joking, for they already made a grave mistake with the last Ballon d’Or winner.

As for Europa League, Arsenal all the way! My sister is rooting for Spurs and Chelsea for since at the beginning of the season, she said those two teams will reach their respective final and she was right.

Scenes from Wednesday evening after Spurs won against Ajax to go to the final:

Lucas Moura’s hat trick sent Spurs to the final plus a wonderful save from Lloris in extra time.

Joie!

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris raises both his hands into the air to the delight of Tottenham's fans

Things are going to be a whole lot different this year. I’ve been working on revamping the blog for a while now, gathering topics of interest and sitting on them wondering when it was going to be the right time to integrate them on the blog.

The time is now.

It’s more of a makeover than a total revamp. 😒

The tone is going to be serious overall. Things are going to be spoken of that some readers – especially Christians – may not like, but it needs to get out. I’ve been holding back, but this is not the time to be joking around. This is the time to be winning lost souls as the pending arrival date of our Savior gets nearer.

You have been warned. I won’t be holding back on whatever topic I’ll be delivering.

Image result for butterfly gif

Last year, I was given the word ‘peace’. When that was achieved at the end of 2018, I was given the word ‘restoration’ for this year and it seems like everywhere I turn, I am being reminded of it. I’m not perfect and I do backslide just when I wrongly think that I have it under control. Without God, I wouldn’t be perfect and during this year of restoration, I’m moving aside to let God enter the room.

Another thing you’ll be seeing a lot of are butterflies. Yes, butterflies. The butterfly represents hope, life, and transformation. I hope to become a new butterfly at the end of 2019 be it God’s willing that I live that long.

Where it concerns a new theme, I already looked at some and I narrowed it down to 3. I’ll also be playing around with some fonts. I created a few logos last year, but I discarded them. I’ll try to see what I can do with the ones I currently have.

So, what has changed? Is book/movie reviews still going to be published? Is this the end of La Petit Muse as we know it? Maybe the government is reading this as I write?!

Image result for gif tom cruise james corden

Kidding! Just kidding!… Or am I? 😆

I plan to stick around for just a little while longer. I’ll be randomly posting topics as usual. There’s a change in schedule as well. Scripture of the Week and Devotional Nuggets will be kicking off the week on Sundays, as well as Song Sunday

Yes, that’s right! I’ll be introducing a few new categories in due time. I want to dedicate Tuesdays to trips and travels. I’ll likely share posts about T&T and possible places I’ll like to visit so we’ll be traveling via blogging! Some Wednesdays would be dedicated to writing and I’m still contemplating on Midweek Mystery at the moment. Another category I’ll be adding is Origins, a series I mentioned in January 2018 that I was interested in doing. It never took off, but I drafted some ideas last year, so hopefully, it’ll take off this year when the time is right.

Also, also, I want to start incorporating quotes at the beginning of my posts, but I’m still sitting on the fence with this one. I may eventually start incorporating more French in my posts as it’s a continuous learning process. Celebrity culture is going to be a recurring theme… you’ll see why soon.

Despite the fun topics, I’ll be focusing more on the Bible, our Creator and Savior, and end time events. Looking forward to flying with you this year.
