Goal counter: January โœจ

Hello, and welcome to another…

This is where I talk bloggy stuff. Give little updates, etc. Today, we’ve come to the end of a wonderful start to 2020 both in the virtual world and in the land of the living. This month, I debuted a new sign-off signature for LPM and have actually gone on to create a few others which would make their debut in the Lord’s timing. I also started using a planner and…

…I did not stick to it. Yep, your girl started off using it just fine, then revert back to the sheer randomness when it comes to posting. So, instead, I listed a few short-termed goals that I wanted to achieve this month. Et voila!:

* I did not know how my reading was going to start off this year, so I listed 5 books to read. I ended up reading 17 books, just 2 more than Jan 2019! I get to cross about 8 books off my TBR for the others weren’t on it.

* I plan to restudy Exodus soon. This month, I did not get the time to start for I was working on a Genesis recap.

* This was accomplished: Gratitude is an Attitude. It’s where I write thank you entries on a daily basis. I’m currently looking into another writing format, but so far, I am happy with the way the entries are coming along and I thank God for it.

* I believe I’ve found it! In the right time, I’ll make the change if it’s to be.

* Happy that this was accomplished for I don’t blog for an entire week anymore. I hope to do this once a month for the rest of the year.

* Although this one is crossed off, I did manage to introduce a new category: Heart Reflections. I did not realize it until I was going back through the entries that I posted for this month. Originally, I had plans to introduce Adventures in the Kitchen, but all things work for good.

* I got the majority completed so bless God! ๐Ÿ’™

* Accomplished! It’ll be introduced within the new theme if all goes according to plan.

In February, I want to direct my attention to reviews for books, TV shows, and movie trailers if there’s time to do so. Who knows? Maybe I’ll dedicate a week to do so.

God’s peace be with you.

“I love you, too.” ๐Ÿ’™

Very Short Story #29

“Would you be scared…” she stops, suddenly hesitating, meekly looking across the table at her coffee companion.

He implored her to go on with his ocean blue eyes. Gathering her courage, and pushing past the lump in her throat, she asks, “Would you be scared if I said that I love you?” She shut her eyes not wanting to see his reaction to her love confession. Because I do… love you, that is.ย Words tumbled and tossed and tangled around each other as they banged against her brain and knocked against her worried heart, but it came to a standstill when warm hands cupped hers.

The gesture gives her the courage to open her eyes, but not to still her wicked fears.

His hands returned to the large cup of java he was using to keep warm rather than to drink from it. The smile on his face was bright. It melted into pure happiness that she promised herself to move mountains if it meant framing the genuine expression on his face for all the lifetimes that they’ll spend together.

He was her moon.

“No,” he replied, blue eyes locked onto hers. “Because, I love you, too.”

All grammatical errors are mine.

*** Thanks for reading this super short. I’m slowly, but surely inching my way back to writing.ย

A time to reflect โ˜•

ย “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in youโ€”unless, of course, you fail the test?”

2 Corinthians 13:5ย

Joy. It’s the main ingredient that God wants us to have in life. Take some time to think of how you’ve experienced joy in your relationship with Jesus and thank Him.

Talent. Don’t envy your neighbor because he/she has been blessed with more gifts than you. Instead, focus on the talent/s God has given you to bring glory and honor to His Name. Invest your time and talent/s in Him.

Solitude. Regularly seek God’s voice in the silence and solitude. Ignore your devices for a little while to focus your being on God.

Let us continually examine our heart daily as we prepare to meet the King.

Languages: the origins

Have you ever wonder where so many languages originated from?

Let’s go back to Genesis 11. In verses 1-4, we see that everyone spoke one language. There was no need to learn French, Hindi or Korean for everyone understood one another even when they greeted each other with a simple hello. One day, the people came up with a bad idea: to build a city and a tall tower to reach up to heaven (skyscrapers are like modern towers of Babel). They wanted to make a name for themselves and to be famous. They wanted to be like God.

In verses 5-9, we see that God isn’t pleased with the people’s behavior, and so, He puts a stop to their plans. They were trying to live without Him and their mindset was all wrong. God gave the people different languages, so they wouldn’t understand each other, causing work on the city to stop. This caused them to scatter all over the world.

And this is how we ended up with so many languages! Evolution and cavemen had nothing to do with the origins. We need to stop discrediting God when it comes to history. All theories about how languages originated wouldn’t have to be in the first place if we’ll just look to the Bible for answers. When God created the first humans, they were given breath and speech in which they can communicate with Him. He never left them trying to learn how to speak for He values and loves communication.ย

The Crane

I thought about discontinuing this challenge earlier when I realized that I haven’t been updating it as I should, but timing is everything. I plan to see this challenge to the end no matter how long it may take me.

These birds got rhythm in their feet and wings!

๐Ÿฆ The 15 species ofย cranes are placed in four genera. The Japanese cranes (pic above) are my absolute favorite!

๐Ÿฆย Cranes are large birds with long legs and long elegant necks. When they fly, their necks are often outstretched.ย

๐Ÿฆย The cranberry got its name from Dutch and German settlers. They called it “crane berry” because of the plant’s crane-like stem and flower and the berry grew in marshy areas where cranes hang out.

๐Ÿฆย Cranes dance to attract a partner, and they mate for life.ย

Other birds with the letter ‘C’ I considered were the elegant Courser, Cockatoo, and the Cormorant. Now, go watch these majestic birds dance. It’s the best thing you’re going to see today, if not for the week.

We’re supposed to be taking care of God’s beautiful creatures. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฆ‰

When God created everything and declared it “good,” they were placed there to be enjoyed and not destroyed. Unfortunately, we litter everywhere causing deaths of not only flowers, trees, and sea creatures, but also wildlife. As we see in Genesis 2:15, God commands us to keep and care for the earth. We’re stewards of the earth and therefore, we must protect it. Throughout the Bible, we read of God’s compassion and love for His creatures, yet, we tend to find so much animal cruelty by our hands.

If we’re using and abusing the earth, we need to stop for God will not leave us unpunished (Revelation 11:18).

The fires in Australia were unfortunate, but how the locals came to the rescue of surviving wildlife, was also a reminder of how we should be caring for His creatures.ย

We have dominion over the earth. Let us stop misusing it and care for it as God intended when He placed man in Eden. The earth is not ours to do as we please. God is the Creator and Title Holder (Psalm 24:1) and He’s going to hold us responsible for how we care for it. Remember, the earth is our home, too. God didn’t create a earth so beautiful for us to pollute, plunder, strip, and burn.ย

Devotional Nugget #12: here’s to new beginnings!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:ย The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17

When the Lord gave me the word “new” for 2020 late last year, I already started to associate little events that will eventually lead to many new things. God led me to open a new blog (Gratitude is an attitude), I’m in the process of opening a new email account, and He’s continuing to show me new things every day. He has also made something new out of something old at my current job… I’ll leave this for a future post. Even the blog is moving onto newer things.

And this is a new post. ๐Ÿ˜€

Every time a new year comes around, we look forward to making new goals or resolutions. The beginning of the year is spanking fresh and it inspires and ignites us to look ahead to newer things in store than the previous year. It reminds me of being a new creature in Christ. When we come to Him, the way we think is different, the way we perceive things are no longer our wishes, and we see the true meaning of love through the eyes of Christ. Our future assurance is in Him. In Him Who is the holder of keys to eternal life.ย

When we become new creatures in Christ, we no longer live for ourselves and our lives are no longer worldly (John 3:3; Ephesians 2:1-3). That doesn’t mean that evil and sin won’t be present. They’re still going to be present, but because we’re new creatures in Christ, we see them from a new perspective that they no longer hold sway over us.ย

The newness is a continuing condition.

Our new spiritual perception of life, in general, is now a constant reality for we now live for eternity. This is the transformation that is identified as the faith that produces works in James 2:14-26.

What I love about God is that He takes the old and changes it. When we’re baptized, it symbolizes leaving that old person buried in the watery grave for when we come up out of the water, we’re a new creature in Christ (Romans 6:4). Being a new creature in Him now, we start all over again for we’re washed clean in the Lamb’s blood, our sins are forgiven (Romans 8:1).

See, I am doing a new thing!
ย ย ย ย Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
ย ย ย ย and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:19

Are you ready for God to do a new thing in your life? If you haven’t repented as yet, now is the time to do so. Come as you are before the Lord’s throne and seek Him before it’s too late. Salvation was lovingly purchased for us, and He’s waiting, longing to welcome you into His fold. While the lights are still on, come home today.ย

Application

New. It’s a little word with so much power in it. Apply it to the area of your life that you need to bring to God, today, and watch Him work.ย
