Goal for 2020: Putting God first! ๐Ÿฅ‡

200+ Free 2020 & New Year Images - Pixabay

To seek God before I make that decision even if it’s a little one.ย  To make Jesus my #1 priority and King of my heart for He’s the reason why I’m even getting a chance at everlasting life. Trust the Holy Spirit for, without it, we’re lost, hopeless, and even depressed. To continue to pray for family, friends, foes, and for the nation. Repent daily if I have to. Love, for our Father, is the Author of love and if we abide in Him through Christ, we won’t find the time to hate and criticize.

To continue to do the will of my Creator.

No matter what I do for 2020, THIS is going to be my goal.

I pray that 2020 will be a year of BIGGER and BETTER things for you in Jesus’ precious Name.ย

Coffee Tuesday! โ˜•

The next step in this journey.

Salut! And welcome back to this little space on the internet.ย

2019, huh? I had so many plans for the blog but in the end, many of them were not to be. Now, I look ahead to see where blogging will take me in 2020.

The journey continues?

God has plans for this blog, so yes, the journey is going to continue. I’ve already sketched ideas for certain topics and in doing so, I got a chance to improve my graphics game. Thank You, God! Creativity comes from the Creator after all and I enjoy discovering new ways to create things.

A few blog plans thus far:

Bible studies, monthly scriptures…

10+ Free WordPress & Blog Vectors - Pixabay

Studying the Bible is not a pastime, it’s a habit and the more time I spend in the Word, the more I learn or discover. We’ve only studied Genesis thus far on LPM, but I do plan on posting study notes from Exodus when the time is right. As for the weekly scriptures, they’ll now become monthly from January.

…and a devotional?

Image result for gif God is love

I’ve always wanted to feature a devotional monthly study on the blog and it looks like I’ll be getting an opportunity soon. I’ve prayed about it and the study was already revealed to me so bless God for this. I’ll reveal the Book which God led me to when the time is right. It’s not going to be anytime soon, though.

New/revamp categoriesย

Image result for gif tom cruise reading a book

The categories are something I tend to mention during these kinds of wrap up. It’s most likely that some of these categories would be renamed and some might be dropped. One such category is French Friday which is most likely to be renamed. And yes, there are a few new categories on its way which will be revealed in due time. Also, me dearest, if you’re reading this, I plan to start doing book reviews again. ๐Ÿ˜

366 days of gratitude?

Image result for gif thankful

Ruth over on plantedbylivingwater is currently doing 365 days of thanksย and it’s a wonderful reminder to be grateful. I’ll love to participate as well, but I’m not sure how it’s going to work out as yet. However, I am seriously considering opening a blog just for this sole purpose, so I can journal 366 things to be grateful for in 2020.ย

Posting schedule

Where it concerns randomly posted topics, nothing has changed. However, I got led to create a blogging planner for the first time since I’ve started blogging. I’ve never had the need for one before, but God has many things planned for this blog in 2020 so most likely I’ll be using the planner to schedule posts.ย

Here’s to 2020!

Biblical Reflection

Jesus is not the reason for the season.

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,ย โ€œThis is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.โ€

Luke 22:19

I was recently asked why I don’t celebrate the birth of my Savior given that it’s a Christian tradition. And that’s just what it is: tradition, a man-made one at that, too as Christmas tends to undermine the birth of Christ. It is not biblical, it will never be biblical for God never changes. Why didn’t the early church celebrate the birth of Christ? I was looking up something on birthdays recently (another post, another time) and I wondered where in scripture did the Jews celebrate birthdays? Why shop until we drop? Why snowmen, elves, trees, lights, and a chubby man in a red and white suit trespassing into people’s homes by going down a chimney? Why do we do many things in His Name that are based on tradition and not scripture? Why celebrate His birthday as a man when He is not?

Someone else inputted, “But Jesus is the reason for the season”. For me, He isn’t. It sounds like a slogan drummed up by a pretty good marketing team to target Christians, so they can get into the Christmas spirit.ย

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

Colossians 2:8

In “Do this in remembrance of me”, Jesus never directed anyone to celebrate or commemorate His birthday. Yes, I’ve heard the argument that “we give gifts for the giving of gifts comes from the wise men.” Yes, the wise men brought gifts, but they were not giving gifts for Jesus’ birthday. Rather, they were presenting gifts to a King and this event does not state that it was the King’s birthday. Rather, Jesus was already said to be a toddler when the wise men came to visit.ย

โ€œYou are a king, then!โ€ said Pilate.

Jesus answered,ย โ€œYou say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.โ€ย

John 18:37 (NIV)

It’s hard to believe now, but I used to celebrate Christmas. I woke up one morning in search of the truth after celebrating it didn’t sit too well on my heart. I prayed and sought God’s guidance in the matter. All of this was before I got baptized by the way. The Lord led me to the conclusion that this holiday was not to be celebrated anymore, so I stopped. I don’t miss it at all. There are some pastors out here that also came to the same conclusion to stop celebrating the holiday, but they love to compromise by still placing lights as decorations around the church minus the tree. It doesn’t make sense.ย

RELATED: That time of year

A great testimony & eye-opener by Sue Love!

Christ was never in Christmas for Christmas did not originate with His birth. He is not a sun god or a fairy tale, and He doesn’t deserve the silliness surrounding the hype around this time. He is not the reason for the season. You are. Jesus is not caught up in the commercial hype of the season; you are. Jesus is not interested in which gift is His underneath the tree; you are. When Jesus came to earth, it wasn’t for Jesus, it was for us, so we can gain salvation and everlasting life. Saying that “Jesus is the reason for the season” is like saying “Jesus was born for Jesus”. And if He was the reason for the season? Then Christmas would’ve gone a little something like this:

โ€œThe Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lordโ€™s favour.โ€

Luke 4:18

Image result for jesus word gif"

Jesus is the Word and the Word was always here. The Word is God and the Word was always with God and God has no beginning or end. No day, no month, nor year. He is Spirit, and He is Truth, and we must worship Him in such. The concept of Christmas seems like a golden calf to me.

Devotional Nuggets, Testimony Thursday

Devotional Nugget #11: A lesson in restoration

For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.

2 Corinthians 13:9

2019 flew by so quickly! At the beginning of the year, God provided me with the word “restoration” and He showed me the power of restoration in several areas of my life for NOTHING is too hard for Him. He restored health, family, peace, joy, and even finance! I am very thankful for what He has done and what He is going to do in all departments of my life. Proverbs 18:10 and Psalm 91 are my go-to’s for every situation and I’ll continue to claim God’s promises through them.

Related: He restoreth my soul

Sin corrupts, blinds and cripples us, but God wants to restore us spiritually, mentally, and physically. He wants to give us the gift of peace and joy. He wants our lives to be filled with purpose. Being in a relationship with Him can restore what sin stole for He is our sole source of restoration.

Reflection

God can take something old and make it new and shiny. Nothing is ever too hard for God so don’t give up on praying. Make it a daily routine and trust God.

Song Sunday ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽท

How MUCH does He LOVE us? ๐Ÿ’™

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Too much!

Excessively!

More than words can say or we can ever comprehend!

Image result for gif love

God loves us so much that He sent His only Son into this wicked world to be a sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. This self-sacrificial love can explain itself, yet, we still cannot comprehend why or how much He loves us. And we’ll never be able to come to a sufficient or pleasing answer because we’re unworthy.

Image result for gif love

So why does God love us? Simple. He is love (1 John 4:8,16). The essence of His being is love and because He loves, we can love for He first loved us. He loves the sinner (but hates the sin) hence why we can come to Him as we are, so He can forgive us of rebelling against Him and make us clean.

Image result for love you cute gif"

His love is not limited for it has no beginning or end.

Reflect on His love today and thank Him for loving you.

With so much peace and joy

Jesus You love me too much ooo
Too much ooo, too much ooo
Excess love ooo
