Song Sunday 🎢🎷

I’m coming back to the heart of worship for it’s all about You, Jesus! πŸ’™

Β Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24

During this year of restoration, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting and self-examination.Β Β

I confess that the only fear in me is standing before the Creator ashamed and guilty after He has given me so much time to clean up all areas of my life. Like, what if I keep holding onto things and refusing to let go? However,Β I’ve been giving up many things left and right for my life on this earth is but a few minutes compared to eternity with Jesus Christ. And this song, this song makes me feel powerless in God’s presence. Makes me feel speechless. Convicts me. Tries me.

Lord, it’s not about me, my family, my friends, or the idols I used to worship. It’s about YOU and YOU alone. I pray to be counted worthy to even stand before YOU on the day of judgment. To God be the glory.Β

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus

  1. Love this song so much
Although Michael w Smith’s version is not one I like – prefer matt redman’s – so I will go and play that one –
And wishing you a good day my friend)

  2. I’m with you on this. It is a fearful thing standing in judgment knowing myself and what I am capable of, whether in deed or thought. I know we are not expected to be perfect but we are the children of the Almighty God and should act like it. I keep seeing a reoccurring term in my Bible study….fear. People tell me the Bible says fear not, and that is absolutely correct. Fear not the evil, the world, what man can do to us, etc. What it does say over and over is…fear God.

    1. Amen, me dearest! I know He hasn’t given us a heart of fear, but I also had to share what was on my heart. As you said, we should only fear God. Fearing God was the topic of my group’s first Bible study last month.

  3. Amen! This post really moved and convicted me. God is so holy and righteous. And we ought to daily strive to become who he wants us to be. I always picture myself before his judgement seat, not being able to stand before his holy face and immense glory. Its ALL about him forever. Daily I fall, but I get back up repent and continually ask the Holy Spirit to burn away everything in me that doesn’t glorify God. True change and sanctification comes from God through the power of his Holy Spirit actively in us. Working in us. Through us for glory of God. Blessings & peace. Did always love this M.W.S worship song. πŸ™‚

    1. Amen! He always is for He cannot change! You get what I mean about standing before Him. It’s all about Him, but sometimes, we worry so much that we end up falling into fear of standind before His awesome glory. Amen! We cannot want to be close to God, walk as Jesus did, but neglect the Holy Comforter. May God continue to bless and guide you. πŸ’™

  4. Our pastor mentioned this song recently. It’s written by Matt Redman in response to the congregation’s reaction to the worship band, not God. He felt like the band had gotten in the way of the congregation worshiping God. I believe the pastor actually sent the band away that day. As part of the worship team in our church, I can see how it would be easy to feed off of the praise when people tell you that the band sounded great. But we should be directing their worship upward.

    Love your post!
