THE DIAGNOSIS
In 2016, my mum went to the hospital for her routine pap smear test. She does this every year (I’ll advise that every woman takes this seriously).
When she went back for her result, it was not business as usual. Rather, like a bomb explosion, she got the shock of her life. She was diagnosed of Minimal deviation adenocarcinoma – MDA (malignancy).
Minimal deviation adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix is a rare variant of cervical cancer. It accounts for 1 to 3% of all cervical cancers, it is not easily diagnosed and there is no standard treatment.
