Meh! Michael Jackson does not have a song from the year that I was born so this question is invalid.Β
The Potentials
Human – The Human League
Broken Wings – Mr. Mister
West End Girls – Pet Shop Boys
When I Think of You – Janet Jackson
The Runners Up
Rock Me Amadeus – Falco
New Dress – Depeche Mode
Alive and Kicking by Simple Minds
Take My Breath Away – Berlin π
The Winner
The 80’s was my playground and what’s the 80’s without this underrated song ‘Here Is the House’ by Depeche Mode? Written by Martin Gore and sang by Dave Gahan, the song evokes a sense of longing. The narratorΒ just wants to spend a night in with the person he loves. He wants to shut out the world and enjoy a moment, no interruptions. And then again, it conveys a sense of loss. The narratorΒ lost everything and the house painfully reminds him of those memories he had with the person he loved.Β
Either way, the song was amazing to my ear and the ticking clock at the beginning and end of the song was an effective touch.Β
And I feel your warmth
And it feels like home
And there’s someone
Calling on the telephone
Let’s stay home
It’s cold outside
And I have so much
To confide to you
With or without words
I’ll confide everything
I’ll confide everything
Love Depeche Mode ! ππ

To be honest, I can’t stand to hear Modern Talking and their music does nothing for me lyrically speaking. Dave Gahan, on the other hand, has such a soothing and emotional voice that I consider him my second favorite vocalist after Michael Jackson, although I do not like all of Depeche Mode’s songs.

Really, Haha. Funny-this is my teenage music preference and I associate the flow of their tunes as worry- free state in the time capsule. So when I hear them, i feel as there is nothing pressing happening. I will check out Dave Gahan. Very interesting.

Depeche Mode, I forgot about those guys, another song for my playlist.
My picks; I say a little prayer, by Aretha Franklin; and I heard it through the grapevine, by Marvin Gaye. Yeah, you guessed it; theyβre both on my playlist, and was released the year of my birth. π

Thanks, a lot of people say that. My music collection spans across all genres, I play them on a Bluetooth speaker at work. I even have theme nights; throwback Thursday is one. I canβt even take a night off, without causing them to ask whatβs up with no music? π

Haha! You’re welcome. I remember when I had a massive music collection back then when I loved music which included CDs. Now, I only listen to selected music.
