Tom Cruise is Pioneer of the Year!

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. 😉

CinemaCon 2018 - Will Rogers Pioneer Of The Year Dinner Honoring Tom Cruise

Last evening, TC dominated the Paramount Presentation with tales from his upcoming film Mission: Impossible – Fallout at CinemaCon and he was honored at the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation’s 2018 Pioneer of the Year dinner. He is the second actor to receive such award. I know they said he’s the first, but I think Bob Hope received the award back in 1980. Cruise spent time on the red carpet mixing and mingling with every reporter. No reporter was left unturned!

Some lowdowns from the event:

^ TC looked great in the best color ever to exist in the face of the galaxy:

^ Paramount Pictures confirmed the pre-production sequence of Top Gun and the recordings can start in July given that the movie will be opening on July 12, 2019. Eh, I’ll pass on this.

^ TC and McQuarrie showed raw footage of Cruise doing some stunts. TC did 106 jumps (from a plane) to get three usable takes that will be cut together to make a single three-minute action sequence in the film.

^ It took a year and building the largest wind tunnel in the world to prepare so we can see TC skydive out of a C-17.

^ Those lucky bastards get to see a 10-minute sequence set on the streets of only the most romantic city in the world and a new trailer!

^ Here’s a spoiler: Hunt saves August Walker (Henry Cavill) while they’re in the air.

^ Cruise had to chase a stuntman falling at 200 mph in the air, re-attach an oxygen hose, and deploy his parachute — and his own — in time to not plummet to the ground. How is he still alive?

^ Cavill said he felt as if he was in “Top Gun”.

^ I am convinced that Tom Cruise is going to die doing a stunt for an action film. Pegg feels the same way, stating, “It is a daily stress going to work with him because you don’t know if you’re going to see him tomorrow.”

^ TC talks about more MIs for he’s not ready to give them up yet. Dude, no! No one wants to see Ethan Hunt in a wheelchair!

^ TC’s MI 6 co-stars were there to also recognized four decades of Hollywood success.

^ And Angela Bassett was in her glee. Like, who spiked her drink?:

^ Other actors present at CinemaCon who? TC OWNED CinemaCon!

^ The honorary dinner was hosted by James Corden, they showed a reel of TC’s brilliant career and he received a standing ovation.

An event record $1.5 million was earned on the name of honoree Cruise.

^ The Pioneer of the Year Award is given to a respected member of the motion picture community whose professional leadership, service, and commitment to philanthropy is exemplary.

^ Paramount needs Tom Cruise. They know this for he has brought in the majority of their earnings and they’re depending on MI6 to bring their studio back to its former glory.

^ While listening to his speech, I concur that TC has a beautiful voice. It’s so soothing that I can listen to him drone about nothing all day and still pay attention. He should consider doing audio novels. Anyways, congrats man! 👏

Church…
Where are you?
What are you doing?
Can’t you see there are sons and daughters before you crying,
dying
heartbreaking,
bleeding?
Continuing to hold Satan’s hand by his role of misleading,
blinding
destroying,
brainwashing and mind controlling?

While you sit among yourselves gossiping about them instead of praying,
without ceasing
fellowshipping,
fasting
preaching,
worshipping
praising,
Where is your light really shining?
Unto the lost or just below a bushel?

Why are you involved in partying,
drinking
late night texting,
Snapchatting
Instagram lazing,
Twitter tweeting
Pinterest pinning,
more than soul winning?

Have you forgotten your mission?
Have you gone back to that place I took you out from?
Have you fallen for the lies from the serpent of deception, lust and temptation?
Are you doubting me?
Are you reading my word daily so that you can hear from me?
Do you know my voice?
Do you truly have me at…

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?

This is not a fair question! At the moment, I am feeling French fries, but if I had to get an endless supply of food, it’ll be cheesy pasta… provided that I can have coffee with it.

List at least five movies or books that cheer you up.

The Holy Bible cheers me up more than any other thing on the face of this wretched earth. I don’t depend on movies or books to cheer me up, I pray. However, since I rarely reread books, if I have to choose a movie now, I can always put on Knight & Day because TC is the guy.

If you were a mouse in your house in the evening, what would you see your family doing?

Hahaha! They’ll be trying to get rid of me and they’ll involve the family cat, so maybe I’d rather be a fly on the wall. Dart! They’ll try to chase me out of the house, too!

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

I appreciated Pastor Juan Valdez for allowing the Holy Spirit to use him to bring God’s Word to the people’s ears in this end time.

Day 24: What is your favorite movie and why?

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Well, I had to pick one of the Missions! Why? The plot was well-written, the story flowed, the characters were perfect, the locations exotic, and the best stuntman in business climbed/swung/jumped the world’s tallest building. He even sat on it.

Is it still the world’s tallest building? If it isn’t, he’s going to find the new world’s tallest building and sit on top of it.

Anyway, this movie is a roller coaster of a ride from Moscow to Dubai, all the way to Mumbai! The first time I watched it in the cinema, I was not allowed to breathe for it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Books & Reviews 📚

Book #102: Private Vegas

Las Vegas is a city of contradictions: seedy and glamorous, secretive and wild, Vegas attracts people of all kinds–especially those with a secret to hide, or a life to leave behind. It’s the perfect location for Lester Olsen’s lucrative business. He gets to treat gorgeous, young women to five-star restaurants, splashy shows, and limo rides–and then he teaches them how to kill.

Private Jack Morgan spends most of his time in Los Angeles, where his top investigation firm has its headquarters. But a hunt for two criminals leads him to the city of sin–and to a murder ring that is more seductively threatening than anything he’s witnessed before. Private Vegas brings James Patterson’s Private series to a sensational new level.

This review is going to be short.

I dislike this story. I dislike Justine and I still dislike Jack Morgan. Justine was used as a prop. She did nothing for me. Gozan and Khezir were replicas of JP’s earlier nasty creatures – the vampire brothers in Violets Are Blue. I also dislike when Khezir suddenly became Khezzy out of the blue. Jack Morgan is an extremely boring individual and I wished he had died in one of those car bombings.

This book was terrible and JP needs to stop putting his name on books he doesn’t care to write anymore. Disjointed, jumpy plots, no proper story. Probably the worst book I’ve read in a long while. I’m glad I did not spend money on this trash. Even the title is misleading. It’s about time JP and co. close down Private. It just isn’t working.

Day 23: Post five pictures of celebrities you find attractive

Haha! Right. I’ll do that… with footballers!

Olivier Giroud – Tall, handsome, stylish & French? What’s not to like? Also, bearded. He made me appreciate beards. 😄 I liked Giroud since his early days in France before he won an award for his good looks, so I am delighted with how far he got in his career.

Lionel Messi – The Tom Cruise of football! No, seriously, I remember a debate a few years ago in which fans argued about Leo and TC looking alike. I didn’t see it and maybe I needed to squint…

…but I always thought Leo was cute and today no one argues with that. It’s too bad people have to see beauty in others in order to appreciate them and that’s everything wrong with the world today.

*shrugging* Same old Leo!

Edinson Cavani – his hair is the dream stuff of commercials! Many people think he’s unattractive because of his face, but I think the opposite.

André Gomes – This boy should be on the catwalk instead of on the pitch because he’s got the looks! Not to discredit him as a footballer, I enjoyed watching Gomes grow into confidence this season.

Yoann Gourcuff – The first time I saw Yoann Gourcuff he was wearing the colors of the French national team and the first thing that came to mind was, “World’s prettiest footballer!” And then, “Why isn’t he on a catwalk?” But I appreciate Gourcuff as a footballer although, since his broken ankle, he’s not as good as he once was.

Although I had to choose five people, I happen to think that everyone is attractive in their own way. I look at people and go, “God certainly did a fantastic job with the human race.” 💙
