Day 25: A character who you can relate to the most

The last time I related to a character, it was Alex Cross in Hope to Die.

Cross’s faith in God was the biggest factor that stood out to me. Despite the fact that his family was kidnapped and they could’ve died at any moment, Cross’s faith in God just grew stronger and it had me questioning if I were to be face to face with a deadly situation as Cross, how would I fare? Would I be strong enough to face the eye of the storm? Some readers thought that Cross’s faith in God was too much to their liking, but I guess they don’t understand that almighty power of the King.

The lesson learned? Never underestimate the power of God.

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

Life in general. To wake up and see another day is something that I am always happy about. I am happy when I get my cup of coffee on mornings so I can sit down and enjoy the sunrise.

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry?

No, but this question reminded me of when I used to collect pretty stones and shells on the beach. 😊

Tom Cruise reveals the title of the 6th Mission

The best spy in the business is back!

The only movie that I’m highly anticipating this year is the 6th entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise and I seriously can’t wait for it. My love affair with movies is out the window, but I still love the Mission franchise. And Tom Cruise did two things today: he joined Instagram and revealed the title of the 6th Mission in an epic way.

The title is Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

The title heavily suggests that the 6th installment will deal with the repercussions from Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. On a side note, I wonder if Ethan Hunt’s relationship status would finally be put to rest. His ex-wife is coming back (maybe they see each other secretly and they aren’t even exes as he suggested in the 4th Mission?), but I am hoping that Ethan and Ilsa are end game.

The trailer should be arriving next month. Tom also posted a photo of him hanging onto a flying helicopter promising that they upped the ante for the 6th installment.

That’s a mad shot!

Mission: Impossible – Fallout arrives in theaters July 27, 2018.

50 Foods #27: Sugar

Origin: New Guinea
Date: 17th century onward
Type: Carbohydrate

Ooh, yes, the sweet stuff!

Hands with painted nails holding a bitten sugary donut

Sugar has quite an interesting history behind it. When I think of sugar, I recall how it was a rare and expensive commodity until the 17th century. The author reminds the reader of this expense during the White Gold period. The French and the English have a huge part to play in this. The author touched on rum and the revolution and how the British were forced to impose a duty on molasses after the expense they racked up during the French and Indian Wars.

Sugar is the main ingredient that is used in practically any and everything today from pastries to tea. I don’t know what the world would do without this sweet.

Would I eat it?: Well, I basically eat it every day!
