Let your light so shine before men

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

  1. This reminds me so much of my childhood–a simpler time–when I would go around singing “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine..”
I feel so uplifted to have had the desire to spread goodness; when I was so young.
thank you for sparking this reminiscence xx

  2. Alanna brought up the same thought I had. And I want to thank you! When you posted that video link to that song, I have been singing it ever since. Singing it when I fall asleep, when I wake up, and through the day, if I get frustrated or any feelings that aren’t in line with what God wants for me, I start praying to Him, then I sing that song, over and over, and over. I dance, stomp my feet, clap my hands, and shout! It makes me feel so much better. Thank you my dear friend. :):):)

    1. I find myself humming it while I work or while I’m writing as well. Thank you for sharing this, my friend. I have to thank God for leading me to that song. I haven’t heard it in ages and I was on YouTube searching for some nice Gospel to listen to and that song just popped into my head.
