Day 22: A book that makes you cry

If it’s any book that I’ll never read again as long as I breathe air it’sĀ E. B. White’s Charlotte’s Web.

I read that book as a young child and it tore me to bits and just thinking about it now…Ā

Although it was a hard read for me, this story is about the beauty of friendship and how the right friends can transform our lives. This story was beautifully written, but I’ll never forgive Mr. White for the waterworks.

  1. I remember reading this one a long time ago and it was so good. But so sad. Haha. Part of me wants to reread it again, but like you said… I don’t know if I want to go through the waterworks again. šŸ˜…

      1. Perhaps so. šŸ™‚ However, I’ve forgotten a lot of it, so I’m very tempted to reread. šŸ˜… (I’m slowly reading through the children’s books I’ve collected to see if I still like them and I saw that I had put this one on the stack. But it’s way down in that rereading stack, about 30 or so books from now. šŸ˜‚)

      2. I wanted to collect the books I loved from young and see if I still like them as well. Ah, happy reading. I hope that you still like most if not all of them. šŸ™‚

      3. That’s great! Have you started a list of them, yet?

Thank you! ā¤ So far, so good. Encyclopedia Brown still has a lot of nostalgia for me, and of course, I still love the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. (Just ordered Mystery of Maui, which I haven't read before. Nothing like reading a book that takes place on a tropical island to make you feel warmer in the dead of winter. šŸ˜‚) I'm also finding quite a few books that I don't remember, so I'm not sure if I read them and didn't care for them or if I never read them at all. There were a few that I was surprised to find myself not enjoying as an adult, but it has mostly been enjoyable. šŸ™‚

      4. A few of them. I bought a Hardy Boys book and I found a Nancy Drew while cleaning out.

You’re welcome. šŸ™‚ Yes, I love them so much! I just hope I’ll be able to love them as much as I did when younger. Ooh, nice! That sounds like an awesome read! Hahaha! And warmer you shall feel. šŸ¤£
