November 05th: Intense

Describe the last time you were surprised by the intensity of a feeling you had about something, or were surprised at how strongly you reacted to something you thought wouldn’t be a big deal.

I dislike surprises, so I am rarely ever surprised.

  1. This strikes me as amusing, possibly because of reading in close proximity to this post, the one about how you don’t like to outline your stories. You must like surprises, as long as the surprise is slightly removed from you, so there’s no personal consequence. I like happy surprises, I don’t like disruptive or bad surprises, even if they’re minor. I like to prepare for things. And yet, I don’t like to outline either.

    1. Yes, I don’t like outlining my stories, but I’m hardly ever surprised when I complete a story because overtime scenes just build up in my head. I really don’t like surprises, but i like good news. Does that makes sense? *sighs* Sorry, I’m having a weird moment.

      1. No, I get it. I think especially for writers, we attach certain extra meanings to words. The differences can be so nuanced and personal while still holding strong, emotional significance. So, I can understand the need to have a distinction between enjoying good news while not liking surprises.
