Be The Diamond Within

It’s Poetry Wednesday and I’ll love to share this beautiful poem that was written by my friend, T.R. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. She’s such a gifted writer!

You sit there all alone

watching the world pass you by.

You sit there sighing.

Hands at your side.

Outside the wind is dancing.

Outside the world goes round.

But inside you are hurting.

Inside you wear a frown.

Itโ€™s okay to struggle.

Itโ€™s okay to cry.

Itโ€™s okay to have these feelings.

But itโ€™s not okay to die.

There is love around you.

Yes, even while you hurt.

There is care to support you.

To show you what youโ€™re worth.

You may feel like charcoal.

Burning into dust.

No one sees your value.

Your tears have become rust.

Truth is under pressure

thatโ€™s where valueโ€™s found.

Yes, your layers carry millions.

Listen, all around.

Diamonds donโ€™t come easy.

Their hardship isnโ€™t known.

But you and I, we know this,

and have since found our home.

  1. This is a great share Diana. Wonderful poem. Lots of emotion here. Sadly when you are in it, you don’t believe it will get better. You don’t believe all the love. You don’t believe all the “I know what you are going through” or in the support you might have. This is a wonderful poem about a not so wonderful struggle. :):)

      1. I agree, and sadly most of the people who don’t talk about it are the people who are hiding it from the world. I don’t why. When we are sick we tell somebody, even if it’s in casual conversation, “hey how are you,” we’ll say, “I’ve been sick lately, head cold, backs been acting up, etc. But when it comes to the mental part, “I’m fine”
