Six-Ten-Word Story Week!

I love fun writing challenges! This week is going to be a blast!

I asked for photo prompts and I received them!

This week, I am doing a six-ten-word story challenge and I am excited to get a move on it. It’s been a while since I’ve done photo prompts with limited words and I am anticipating what words I can dole out during the week.

These are the pictures that I received:

Six-Word Story (Monday)

Yay! My twins! See those identical smiles? This story is going to be about smiles. 🙂

Seven-Word Story (Tuesday)

To be honest, I was not expecting this one, but I love a challenge, so we’ll see!

Eight-Word Story (Wednesday)

Whoa! That’s all I have to say.

Nine-Word Story (Thursday)

YES! I get a TC picture prompt! *pumps fist*

Ten-Word Story (Friday)

One-half of my twins and this picture is lovely.

I can’t wait to see what I come up with so join me on this trip? I can’t promise that it’ll be epic, but it’s going to be awesome!

Books & Reviews 📚

Book #51: Missing Mom

The Times described this novel as ‘A brilliant unmissable novel’. It turns out that I could’ve afforded to miss this one. It was boring, dull and lifeless. Nikki Eaton was plain self-centered. The story lacked an emotional impact. The protagonist bored me to tears. I’m sorry I even opened the book.

Almost every character is described as having “moistly glittering eyes”. I mean, WHAT? Was I reading a manga?

Then came this: “…I ran for my life; I mean, my car.” It was used twice!

To make this review even shorter, the story didn’t move me in any shape or form, it was repetitive, there was nothing redeeming about it, and I won’t be reading any more books from this author.

A Summer Affair by Elin Hilderbrand. I am on a reading spree lately, so don’t be alarmed if I post more than the intended reviews this week. 🙂

Daily Prompt for September 02nd and 03rd

September 02nd: Name that… you!

Do you know the meaning of your name, and why your parents chose it? Do you think it suits you? What about your children’s names?

I’ve come across a few origins of the name Diana…

…but it has nothing to do with my personality and who I am. I am not divine or heavenly or a goddess, but I love the name and I think it suits me to a ‘T’. What I don’t like? People calling me Princess Diana. Diana Ross is okay, but NEVER Princess Diana!

I asked my parents why they chose ‘Diana’ and they simply said that they liked the name. Thank God I was not named for anyone famous! My children would be named Michael Ray and Marcus Tom (or Tom Marcus) because I have loved those names ever since I was little! I literally use those four names most of the time where it concerns my male characters! 😛

** Guys, sorry that this ‘explanation’ was so long! I’m in too much of a good mood this morning. Anyways, comment down below about the origin of your name and if you dis/like it. Blessed Sunday! 🙂

September 03rd: Blogger with a cause

If your day to day responsibilities were taken care of and you could throw yourself completely behind a cause, what would it be?

Hmmm… this is a good question! Perhaps education, autism, domestic abuse, human rights, racism… am I even on the same page with this question?
