Are writing prompts a useful exercise, or do you find themΒ to be too limiting and/or hokey?
I love writing prompts! As a matter of fact, I am gearing up for a week of writing prompts for next week God’s willing. I am excited to see what I can come up with given that they’re picture prompts. π
I think writing prompts can be useful. But I also feel sometimes people do them because they’ve made a goal to be consistent. So it’s more about making sure you’re accountable to the goal, but then losing sight of the fun writing prompts can give. I’ve been there, and I’ve seen multiple people go there with prompts, or writing goals. People lose focus of the passion behind it. I’m glad you’re steady, and you enjoy them π

Thank you, T.R.! They certainly can be fun and I enjoy doing them. I always ask my friends and family to send me prompts because I love challenging myself. π

Awesome π My prompts I did was by using a noun generator and then using the random words to write a paragraph about, or write out a whole scene with the words in it.

I used quite several generators as well including an app. They were quite useful. I might start back using it soon. ^.^
