Understanding of the time

*** Notes taken during Pastor Phillip’s powerful sermon today (08/04/17). Church was a great blessing today. ❤

God wants us to be like the children of Issachar. For us to understand the time in which we live (1 Chronicles 12:32) and what we ought to do. Know what is going on around you and what it stands for.

If you lack wisdom or understanding, ask God and He will give it to you (James1:5). Now is the time to give our hearts fully to God. All of us have an expiration date meaning that we have no guarantee of tomorrow.

Understanding the time also means understanding WHO YOU ARE. We’re alive today so we can be prepared to meet Jesus when He comes.

Time is at hand, make no mistake. We need to continue to pray fervently.

Do we fully understand the time? Do we know what to do? Jesus said we need not fear the future because our redemption draweth near (Luke 21:28).

All those who have ears let him/her hear. All those who have eyes let him/her see.

Genesis: the beginning and sin entering the world

I love Bible trivia and facts and I love sharing them even if you may know them already. Think of this as a refresher 🙂

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

In the book of Genesis, we get a sense of why God created human beings to live in this big wide world. Adam was created on the sixth day in God’s very own image and was given dominion over the animals. In this book, we read how sin entered the world and how we can be reconciled to God.

FUN TRIVIA:

^ Move over American presidents’ wives, Eve was the First Lady. Lame joke, eh? *shrugging* At least I tried. 🙂 Anyway, Adam and Eve were the first human beings to ever inhabit the earth.

^ The tree that Adam and Eve ate from was not an apple nor was it a pomegranate or a grape or mango for that matter. *Gasps* I’m telling the truth, though. Read all about it in The Temptation and Fall of Man

^ Genesis means origin. Six creative days are mentioned and God rested on the 7th day which is known as the Sabbath (day of rest/worship).

^ Elohim and Yahweh are two different names that the book of Genesis uses for God.

^ Genesis ends with the death of Joseph. This man was a true hero.

April 08th: Turn, turn, turn

For many of us, winter is blooming into spring, or fall hardening into winter. Which season do you most look forward to?

Where I live, we don’t get the experience of the four seasons, but if I had to choose one, I’ll choose Fall because of the play on my senses.
