April 07th: Alma mater

You’ve been asked to speak at your high school alma mater β€” about the path of life. (Whoa.) Draft the speech.

I’m too tired to draft speeches right about now. I hope to re-energize over the weekend. My speech would be short and sweet so…

^ I’ll remind them why education is important and although we’re leaving the school, we’ll continue to uphold the school’s reputation.

^ Always walk with the Almighty because with Him all things are possible.

Thank everyone for the love they’ve shown us during our time at the school.

  1. Well a speech sounds pretty boring, but I’ll tell you one part I’d include. In part, I’d encourage continuing your education, but the heart of it would be to pursue something that you love, that you’re passionate about for your career. People are so scared to pursue what they want, and take different paths in order to be practical and to provide security for their future. But what people forget is that you can fail at a job that you hate just as easily as you can fail at pursuing your dreams. At least the latter will keep you from always wondering, and while you’re trying you’ll have fulfillment. Even better, there’s a great chance you won’t fail because it’s something you care about. And you will give more of yourself to pursue something important to you than to something you don’t care about.
I hate giving speeches, but I could probably give a speech about passion and writing.
