It’s been a while since I’ve done a journal entry. This one is going to be short. ๐
Today at work we had a tsunami drill and we had lots of walking to do. Lots of calm walking to get to the evacuation site. I appreciated the walk because Chaguaramas is a beautiful place with plenty hiking trails but in a real life situation, people would be RUNNING for higher grounds!
Yes, I work near the sea, something I considered a blessing before construction work on a water park started to block my view. Back to the drill, our evacuation site is a gun range. When we got there we had to bear the heat and wait it out for instructions which barely came. Then one of the wardens announced that if we see any shells on the ground to not pick it up.
Nope. No spent shells here.
It was funny because no one bothered with even looking down at the ground before. After the warning, most of the boys (and some gals) looked down hopefully at the ground in hopes of finding a spent shell or two.
Bearing the heat
Although we had to spend some time away from our desks in the unbearable heat which made us grumble about cold showers, it was a beautiful day. ๐
