February 2: Think global, act local

 :

“Think global, act local.” Write a post connecting a global issue to a personal one.

Flangiprop! Today’s prompt!

Racism is a touchy subject for many of us. It happens where I live, it happens in football, it happens in prestigious colleges, it happens everywhere.

As for acting locally, we have to teach our children what respect is. How to respect other people’s thinking and religion. I guess getting involved in some ethnic celebrations can also be a good idea.

I haven’t lost all my faith in humanity just yet.

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

So we’re different colours
And we’re different creeds
And different people have different needs
It’s obvious you hate me
Though I’ve done nothing wrong
I’ve never even met you so what could I have done

Clean

Water Drop

This song by Depeche Mode is special to many people who’ve overcome addiction. It means a lot to me where it concerns my baptism. When I rose out of the water, it was the cleanest I’ve felt and nothing can measure up to that single beautiful experience.

Clean
The cleanest I’ve been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I’ve seen

Now that I’m clean
You know what I mean
I’ve broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I’ve changed my routine
Now I’m clean
