Read the story of Richard Parker and Tom Dudley. Is what Dudley did defensible? What would you have done?
I remember this story. I also remember trying to put myself in Dudley’s shoes and failing because I just couldn’t take the life of someone else no matter how hungry I might have been. I don’t like the thought of eating another man’s flesh. I also remember thinking ‘Poor Parker!’
However, I understand what their situation was. Being shipwrecked and without food for so many days. What would I have done? I hope I never have to make the choice, but I would’ve prayed and ask God to help us all.
