The Bible is full of wonderful promises! Here are some of my favorites:
God has promised that those who believe in Jesus and are baptized, they will be forgiven of all sins and shall be saved.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:16)
Peter replied, βRepent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
God has promised His people eternal life.
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10: 27-28)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
God has promised deliverance from demonic harassment.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
God has promised to deliver us from sickness.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. (Psalms 34:17)
βCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29)
God has promised to give us peace. To deliver us from fear.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
“But whosoever listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.β (Proverbs 1:33)
God has promised to take care of us.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? (Matthew 6:25)
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
Aren’t those wonderful promises? Drawing closer to God can be rewarding. Don’t lose sight of the promises He has in store for you.
I was having a bad (terrible) day one time. I prayed to God for help. I was in my car and pulled something out of a glove box; then, I later noticed a penny fell on my lap heads up, and when I saw that I knew the message was “In God We Trust”. Everything didn’t turn immediately into sunshine and flowers, but my Faith was fortified.
