DAY 25

TWO JULYS BACK:

Too long to print.

NOW:

Being on hold.

I dislike being on hold with my bank. Last evening, I had to call the bank to clarify something with my account butย ‘Your call is being transferred to the next available customer service representative’. I dislike this. Most likely it’s an invisible CSR because almost every time no one is on the other end waiting to take your call (Thank God for pre-recorded female voice messages!)

I waited for a few minutes before the voice comes back to lie to me: ‘All of our customer service representatives are currently serving other customers.’ Erm, for the entire day? I was entertained by an orchestra while I waited patiently. After all that entertainment, she then came back yet again to ‘apologizeย for the delay. Please stay on the line and a customer service representative will be with you shortly.’

Yeah right! After ten long minutes? She then invites me to ‘leave a voicemail message and a customer service representative will get back to you.’

Now that is torturous.ย
