Me and my writing

DAY 30

TWO JULYS BACK:

Too long to print.

NOW:

Me and my writing are in a wonderful relationship at the moment. Although we have plenty good times, we also fight, and have our ups and downs. I think we’ve come a long way from:

Night couldn’t come quicker.

To:

The day all but faded into the unmarked sky as night hastily gobbled it.

Here’s to many more adventures in writing!

DAY 30

I can’t believe it’s the end of this wonderful challenge already. A HUGE thank you to  Rosema and Maria for hosting this delightful challenge and I look forward to participating in near future ones.

I end this challenge with a reminder:

Always remember, that God is in charge.

DAY 29

Ray couldn’t keep his hands to himself wherever his wife was concerned. He would suddenly get the urge to brush something from her hair or to squeeze her side affectionately. Like now, she was attending to a pot on the stove. Her brown hair held back in a loose ponytail, she tasted whatever sauce she was stirring. Ray sensing an opportunity, grinned and walked up to her pinching her in the side.

“Ray!” Diana practically squealed. “I told you…”

He cut her off with a chaste kiss. “I know, but you also know that I simply cannot resist touching you.”

*** Ray and Diana. They’re like my favorite pair to write although some of my friends lovingly complain that they’re too sweet on each other. *shrugging* Someone has to do it.

Politics and drama

DAY 28

TWO JULYS BACK:

Politics and drama? This is the theater at its very best and I try hard not to talk about politics no matter what kind they may be. It’s controversial and can get nasty.

NOW:

I still don’t talk about politics as a favorite topic, but I do read up on it from time to time as I keep up with French politics.

Tammy’s ode

Banner 1

DAY 28

Her name is Tammy and she loves to laugh.

She laughs when she is excited, happy, or even when she feels a little down. She laughs when there is no reason to. She laughs when there is a reason to. She laughs off gossip, lies, and strife. Not even stress can get the better of her! The day I don’t hear a bit of laughter escape from her, I know something would have to be terribly wrong.

Tammy is one of a kind and I hope she never ever changes for anyone.

Bucket list

DAY 27

TWO JULYS BACK:

I don’t have a bucket – or ‘before I die’ – list and I don’t intend to make one soon, but if I had to make one right now, it might look something like this:

  • Visit Paris
  • Attend an FC Barcelona game at the Camp Nou
  • Watch Les Bleus live
  • Speak fluent French

NOW:

Four things off my bucket list:

^ Take a French trip

^ Become fluent in French

^ Italian as a third language (I can say a few words/phrases in this beautiful language like Grazie tante, Prego and Quanto dista il Colosseo?)

^ Explore my country

Friends

DAY 26

TWO JULYS BACK:

Friends never forsake you when you (desperately) need comfort.

Friends offer you a shoulder to cry on.

Friends push and motivate you. They encourage you even if they don’t share your dream/passion.

Friends don’t make excuses.

Friends cheer you up when you’re sad/down.

In short, friends root for you no matter what, but friends wouldn’t hesitate to call you out when you’re in the wrong. They laugh with you, cry with you and stick with you through thick and thin.

NOW:

I’ve been blessed to have some wonderful friends in my life and for this, I am thankful. My friends have never led me astray and they’re a positive influence and light in my life. Friends, you know who you are and I salute you. 🙂

One last dance

Banner 1

DAY 26

The water was cold and it made her skin shiver. She couldn’t swim, and no one was around to witness what she was about to do, so this was going to be easy. As she lay down in the cold water, her short life flashed before her eyes like a slideshow. There was her beautiful and carefree mother dancing around the immaculate home to an upbeat jazz number. Her father laughing and tapping his feet in time as he read L’Équipe to keep abreast of his favorite football team, Olympique Lyonnais. Her first boyfriend Leon breaking off their relationship because his stiff upper-class parents didn’t approve of him dating a girl who came from no money. The icing sugar on top of the clafoutis: meeting the magnetic and seductive Henry on that eventful day in the Tuileries Garden. Kissing him and holding him was precious and she wouldn’t trade those romantic moments for any form of wealth.

And then she couldn’t breathe.

As the River Seine hungrily claimed her soul, Alicia’s final thought was of how cruel it was to die alone without the one you truly love by your side holding your hand as the soul tries to make its lonely journey home.
