Challenge: A Hundred Years of Solitude

The best thing about this challenge? I got to work on a new story and although it’s untitled at the moment, it’s coming along well. I currently enjoy putting the characters together for I started writing before placing the characters. Weird, but true.

He slowly climbed out of bed and shuffled over to the window. Pulling the curtain aside he peered out into the milky goodness. Snow covered the ground making it impossible to see tracks and paths. He softly grunted and rested his head against the cold window. He’ll rather have a hundred years of solitude than this torture. He couldn’t remember his name, he didn’t know where he’ll be going next, and he depended on a woman to keep him from falling apart.

Challenge: The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter

Finally ready to face today’s challenge after cheering on my team (FC Barcelona) during the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla. The match was intense and we fought hard for a 2-0 victory after a red card, 2 on Sevilla’s end and an injured Suarez. Well done, team and thanks for EVERYTHING this season.

Now…

Today’s challenge brings back nice memories of Pharrell’s ‘Hunter’. So I’m off to listen to it for inspiration. 😛

__

Like a hulking predator, he spun me around, and

Tilted my head upwards forcing me to look at him.

I peered into his cold gray eyes and that’s when

Realization hits me…

My lonely heart had been captured by the hunter.

Challenge: And Then There Were None

I’m quite comfortable in bed with Tom Cruise in Ghost Protocol (that blue suit is LIFE!) but then shoot! I can’t believe I forgot to post today’s challenge! I have no idea what I’m going to write though. I’ll just sit in front of the laptop until something pops up.

… five minutes later: I’ve never read anything by Agatha Christie. Isn’t she the author who had a French detective by the name of Hercule Poirot who wrongly went around going ‘Sacré bleu!’ Or was he from Belgium? Either way, ‘sacré bleu’ is outdated.

… ten minutes later… Tom Cruise is scaling the world’s tallest building and I’m yelling (like every time he does it) ‘THAT’S MA MAN!!’ Man is still the coolest cat around.

I think I got something!

He was running, running away from pain, misery and a death. He remembered the look in his father’s shocked blue eyes when the policemen came to arrest him based on little evidence. And then there were none. No more memories for him to dig into. He slowly sat up in the small bed and touched his roughly but carefully bandaged head. His savior was probably in the kitchen cooking him a nice warm meal, something he felt he didn’t deserve for collapsing into her life and turning it upside-down. He couldn’t recall his name, the memories still fuzzy, but she called him Blue Eyes.

Storytell Yourself

To save yourself you’ve got to selve yourself.
You’ve got to delve in self and find your wealth.

Mofrez's

To save yourself you’ve got to selve yourself.
You’ve got to delve in self and find your wealth.
Like a book finds shelf, you’ve got to shelve yourself,
story tell yourself, George Orwell yourself,
learn to spell yourself, sniff and smell yourself,
heaven or hell yourself, because glory sells itself
and quarry fells itself, if you selve yourself.

If you selve yourself, you can foretell as well
what befell yourself. As you intel yourself,
you’ll impel yourself to dispel your hell
for paradise so swell that with joy you yell
when you find your shelf, un-shelve yourself,
and story-tell yourself.

For #MayBookPrompts day 16 “Library of Souls”
Inspired by Gerard Manley Hopkins’ As Kingfishers Catch Fire:

…Each mortal thing does one thing and the same:
Deals out that being indoors each one dwells;
Selves — goes itself; myself it speaks and spells,
Crying Whát I dó is me: for that I came…

Challenge: Like Water For Chocolate

Today was the most hectic day of my working life. I did not get to sit down at all for eight hours and yet, I went beyond the call of duty when four rolled around and it was closing time. It felt great helping the students with their projects! 🙂 So, I had a full day and now I’m sitting in front of my laptop with a blank mind.

Challenge: The Shadow of the Wind

I’ve come to realized that I haven’t read if not all, the majority of the books on this May Challenge list. This is another I’ve not read as well. Here we go…

Annalise was preparing a hot meal for the uninvited guest when something ghosted past her window. She shivered in terror wondering who it could be out there in the harsh snowy weather trying to peek into her home. Was it the wind playing tricks on her? A shadow-like movement caught her attention at the stove and before she could think twice, she pulled the curtain only to be greeted by tree branches playfully slapping against each other in the wind. She held her heart and let out a relieved sigh. Her secret was still saved.

Challenge: Tender Is the Night

I have tons to do this evening, so let’s see what I can come up with in a jiffy! I’ll return to make the corrections. 😛

The fragrance of jasmine and honeysuckle were heavy in the air as he roamed the French Quarter like a predator. And he was a predator, a predator of the night looking for prey. He needed to feed, but the night was still young and New Orleans had offered up a lot of lost souls on a plate. He just needed to find the right victim.

Challenge: The Forest of Hands and Teeth

I couldn’t quite come up with anything for this prompt, but still, it’s something:

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth if one were to step inside the inky forest known as a vampire lair.

Let me just do this… ALL CAUGHT UP!!

It’s been a few rough and exhausting weeks, but now I’ve finally caught up with the challenge and it feels so good! There was no way I was going to leave this incomplete 😛

Challenge: Library of Souls

Never read the book, but here we go:

The Sin Keeper

For every sin, one commits, the Sin Keeper can erase it but it comes at a cost: that you hand over your soul so he can add it to his impressive library collection.
