NaNoWriMo: Coffee break!

amwriting 1

I’ve been writing and although I haven’t hit the 10,000th word mark as yet, I’ll be getting there this weekend. I haven’t been updating the blog and I do apologize, but when I’m in the zone, I’m on a roll. Seeing that I now have 5,444 words, I think it’s time for a coffee break.

When I have writer’s block or simply need a breather from writing – I really don’t like sitting in front of my laptop for hours on end sometimes – I do this:

^ Listen to music to picture the next scene in my head.

^ Play Unblock Me. I’m on Puzzle 40 as a beginner. I haven’t played in years and I find it extremely relaxing!

^ Pick up little French. I’m going to need it when I start writing the football fiction I was recently gushing about. Vous me comprenez?

^ Cook. I’m not the best cook in the world and I’m always going to be in love with mom’s cooking, but I’ve been dishing things up in the kitchen recently.

^ Read. I’m currently reading Finding Opa! and I can’t wait to get it done and over with.

^ Catch up with Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters! I am not ashamed to say that I still remain a fan after all these years and seeing that a new movie will be out next year be it the good Lord’s willing, now is the time for me to binge the entire series.

And it helps because I’m all motivated all over again. Another thing that I find extremely helpful is putting on my favorite TV shows for background noise. Sometimes I pick up little things from them and it help with my flow.

What do you do when you take a little break from writing?
